Good pump, the connections are non conventional, but price quickly over displaces that inconvenience. This does have a low-volume, medium-pitched whine. It's a little annoying if you are sensitive to this frequency. The skimmer doesn't really drown it out. Still new and day one. Seems to be the manufacturer found from other name brand (IM) pumps.

For the money this pond pump is pretty wicked! The speed control and feed delay button works great. I made a water hGarden using this pump, a trash can and horse trough. Works great.

Pump has plenty of capacity for my small water feature. Controller allows wide range of water flow settings, and I’m currently at level 2 of 8. Can hear the pump if you are very close, but is masked by waterfall noise as soon as a you are a few feet away. Had previously bought a less expensive pump that failed after a few days - it seems that you actually do get what you pay for.

I like that it’s small and powerful as well as being energy efficient.However, although it’s DC, it is not their sine wave tech. The pump makes an annoying high pitch sound. Those that reviewed this stating it is dead silent either have a really sound proof cabinet or have hearing loss. It’s kinda like that prank with the high pitch sound that hard of hearing people swear they can’t hear.Get the DCP series which is very quiet and uses thei sine wave tech. I use this for my salt mixing station since it’s far and away in the garage.

Using in my fluval evo 13.5 and works great, quiet and powerful.

Great pump, it's been working great for 1.5 years now on my 40 gallon breeder, 20 gallon sump. Would buy again.edit: its lasted about 3 years running 24/7. I am moving my 40 over to a 125g and bought a 2nd one to have to 2 running as a back-up in case one goes out. When I plugged in the 2nd one (that has been in the box unused for over a year) I did get an error code and it wouldn't spin. I unplugged it, gave it a few manual turns with some tweezers and that got it going. I would recommend, nice little DC pump for the price.
