So Crunchy
I love trying Japanese snacks and this was a great treat to enjoy while watching anime. I'm not used to seaweed snacks but I find these addictive and delicious. They are crispy and have the right amount of salt. They have that same tempura taste I know from the shrimp and vegetable tempura at hibachi restaurants.I loved these but it may be a more acquired taste because both my mom and niece hated it but they turned up their nose at the idea of eating seaweed.

Typical Japanese snack
Has a sweet coating – typical of Japanese snacks. Good unami flavor from the kelp. The flavor is mild, lightly salted, it’s like tempura with a seaweed wrap.

Good, but not my favorite.
I was really excited because I love nori-tempura kind of snacks. I am use to thin, crispy, light, and a salty sea taste. These hit the mark, but not with an arrow, but like a.. boulder? The seaweed thickness is variable and sometimes unpleasantly thick and hard. The tempura is pretty crispy, but it's heavier than I'd like, closer to a *cronch* than a *krissp*. There is a strong stale oily smell and taste. All things considered, it's still not bad, but I can't enjoy more than a few bites. If I were to try this brand again I would try to enjoy their seaweed snacks as I think kombu is too thick.

Delicious!
I've tried Swashbuckle Snack's tempura nori snacks before and these are very similar. The kelp is a little bit thicker than nori so it's got more of a tooth between the light crispy layers. I think the flavors are very similar. To me, these don't taste like old oil, but they do taste like tempura. I like to float these in my ramen broth for some extra crunch or add them to a salmon rice bowl. They have a briny ocean taste but not fishy.

Contains MSG
These are delicious, probably because they have tons of MSG, so eat them in moderation. The kelp varies in thickness, and the thicker pieces are a bit chewy, but they state that in the listing. My kids love seaweed snacks - the very thin crispy ones that come in individual serving packages, but they don't care for these chips because of the thickness of the kelp, so keep that in mind. Personally I love them (other than the msg) so I don't mind the fact that the kids won't eat them.

Crunchy but not much else
The texture is crunchy and you're basically eating fried tempura batter which is also what you taste. You can see the kelp but it's so thin you can't taste anything. Sometimes you get the texture of the kelp but it's rather pointy in the mouth. You might like it as a snack to go with a drink. The bag is resealable and it's not likely you'll finish it in one sitting.

Wow! De-lish!!!
I recently had the pleasure of trying Swashbuckle Snacks Crispy Tempura Kelp Snack Chips, and they truly exceeded all expectations. The timing was perfect, as they arrived just as we were finishing an Asian dish, allowing us to dip them in our seasoned soy sauce. The combination was heavenly! From the first bite, it was clear these snacks are something special. They have a delightful crunch that pairs beautifully with their subtle sweetness, making them incredibly addictive. Despite going back for more servings than planned, I felt good knowing they are a healthy option. The flavor is a fantastic blend of savory and sweet, and the texture is perfectly crispy. They are not only delicious but quite satisfying, making them an excellent choice for a guilt-free snack. I highly, highly recommend Swashbuckle Snacks Crispy Tempura Kelp Snack Chips to anyone looking for a tasty and wholesome treat.
