Needs more work
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving this review. This was an up and down journey for me reading this book, I so wanted it to be 5 stars but it's just not there. Both Asher and Cora seemed to be incomplete as characters, they just didn't feel whole to me.The legal side was really good and made me feel like it had come straight from a tv law drama, this had me very interested. However, it felt too rushed, the set up was there for a brilliant story but it just didn't deliver, I'm sad about this.I also felt that only having one chapter from Asher's point of view was a mistake, the story could have flowed much better and explanations could have been offered for reasons of behaviour and plot development with both points of views. If this was developed a bit more I would happily review this again.

The ending was a bit rushed.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.Punitive Damages starts from Asher's point of view, before changing to Cora's. Asher is a hot-shot lawyer, known for winning high-profile criminal defense cases. Cora's uncle is one of the partners of the firm Asher works for, and as such, he organises for Cora to intern for the summer with Asher. The weekend before her internship begins, she bumps into Asher at a local bar, and they share a kiss. The sexual tension between them ratchets up during her first day, leading to sexual exploits in his office after work. This book started off quite promisingly, however the ending came about so quickly, it felt as if the author no longer wished to continue with the story. It also left several threads hanging, such as the outcome of the trial they were involved in, what happened to the defendant, and what happened to those truly responsible. It also left quite a lot unsaid regarding Asher and Cora. As promising as this book started out, the ending really let it down.

From Womaniser To A One Woman Man?
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Cora's uncle gets her an internship for the summer at his law firm and places her under the "care" of Asher who is a womaniser playboy. I have read all five of Charlotte Byrd's series and enjoy her writing style. It is obvious that she has done considerable research as to how the laws system works in the USA. I found it rather difficult to like Asher as it just didn't work for me him changing basically overnight from a different woman every 24 hours to one forever. I think if we had been given more chances of "hearing" his POV might have helped. Still a very good book!RECOMMENDED!!! Punitive Damages

All out Legal
Suits is what came to my mind when I started reading this book as I love that drama and for sure Asher reminded me of Harvey Specter and his frankness which could easily be construed for aloofness or boastfulness. But that is where the similarity between the two end as Asher’s actions are far from professional from the Cora first day at work. The cloak and dagger case that Asher is handling is thrilling as you can’t tell how dangerous it is going to take. But the chemistry between Asher and Cora is scorching and will keep you turning the pages.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Cora and Asher collided
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. I liked the book Asher was the top attorney in Cora’s Uncle company. He was a major playboy and could have any woman he desired by just looking at her. His firm takes on college interns to mentor and Cora’s uncle wanted him to take Cora as his.Cora was a little nervous to work at her uncles firm for the summer but when she saw who she was working with she was shocked! This storyline had some suspense and plenty of hot chemistry sparking between Cora and Asher. It ended a little abruptly just when the story was starting to unravel. I still enjoyed it and recommend it.

Rushed...
I am really surprised by all the four and five star reviews. Did I even read the same book? From the first chapter we see that Asher is a man who never stays with same woman twice but he comes on to Cora immediately with the scene in his office wich is really hard to believe from a man in his profession, and he professes his love not long after. This book was for free but I would have asked for a refund if this wasn’t the case. Then I read about the fantastic writingstyle from this author but I found it just so so

Good book but a few too many loose ends.
A young girl gets intern at her uncles law firm and her internship is with one of the hot shot alpha male lawyers obviously he’s gorgeous and can get any girl he likes and before she starts the night before she’s at a bar wher she bumps into her to be boss sparks fly and carry on when she starts work, I liked this book and ai really liked the lead characters it also gives you snippets of a current court case although you don’t get to find out the outcome which is a bit frustrating but all in all this was a good read! I received an arc of this book and this is my book review.

Intriguing read and enjoyable
This is my honest review of an ARC I received via Booksprout. I did think this was a really good read from the onset but was a bit disappointed at the rushed ending. The plot and characters were perfect and the book could have been so much more from the brilliant story line. I liked Cora as an intern for Asher who was a criminal defence lawyer, even though Asher ran hot and cold with Cora. The work Charlotte Byrd put into this book about the criminal defence legalise was excellent. There was also panty melting sex in there too.
