Happy Five Year Old.
My son got this gift for Christmas a year ago. He loves it. He still asks several times a week to set up his race track. We set it up and take it down whenever he wants to use it. He loves the set as does his 3 year old sister. As for a children's perspective, it is great. He can set it up by himself to do basic races and jumps. The loops on the other hand are frustrating for him to create and require adult assistance. An older child would probably be able to do them without any problems. The track works with any type of matchbox sized cars / trucks / etc that your child has. The blue track itself is very durable but the plastic ramps that come with it break easily at the tabs. With younger children that aren't as gentle with their toys this can be a problem. My daughter and son have both stepped on or otherwise broke the ramp tabs which makes using the ramp difficult since it doesn't hold the track properly. As a whole, I would recommend this track. Even at the young ages of my children, I would buy it again. You can order replacement ramps if you need to and the joy that they have with it is priceless.

May be a good product however the shipping method/service is less than desireable
This reveiw should not be read against the seller but rather the shipping method and policy that amazon uses. I ordered this item as gift and selected standard shipping which meant that the package would be delivered by UPS. For some reason, certain UPS drivers cannot correctly read the address numbers on our mailbox that others can read and as a result deliver our package to outside of a neighbor's house or better yet leave the package in a neighbor's garage. In the past we were able to contact UPS directly with a tracking number and get a supervisor that would identify the driver and then re-track the package if we had not located the package. Our item was apparently delivered to our house on 12/4 and left in garage. Interesting as both my husband and children were home. I called UPS the next day and was told that Amazon needed to iniate a seek package as UPS was under contract with Amazon. A contacted Amazon that evening through a chat session and could not get a response from the Amazon rep as to when I would hear about the status of my package. I copied the entire chat session into Word because it became hilarious after the number of times of asking a direct question and the Amazon rep would not answer. Spent another 30mins on the phone with UPS and Amazon this morning with UPS repeating that they could not help but this time the Amazon rep informed me that because the package was sent from a third party vendor that Amazon could only refund my purchase and I would have to reorder. I am extremely disappointed in the customer service from Amazon and will now look for this item elsewhere. This is the first time in my use of Amazon I have ever encountered such poor customer service. As a seller I would think twice about using UPS.

Go With Hot Wheels, at least for younger kiddos
If you're looking for a simple straight track that small children can use with out dropping $70, just go to Toys R Us and get some straight 2' Hot wheels track pieces for $.99 a pop. The concept Blutrack is pretty neat; however, if you want several loops as advertised, you'll need to get additional ramp pieces and more of the metal stabilizers separately in addition to the stock pieces. I tried just running Hot Wheels cars down Blutrack with simple stunts and really, one loop was about all they could do. Maybe I didn't give it enough time, but the track is primarily for my kid. I would imagine the Darda cars would work much better. In the end, I decided to go with Hot Wheels straight track pieces with a few other accessories (from Wal-Mart & Toys R Us), which in comparison to the $70 Blutrack, is cheaper.... then again, I'm just fresh out of college, so I prefer slightly cheaper ;) For the record, Amazon's prices for Hot Wheels products is double, and sometimes triple, what you will find in Toys R Us and Wal-Mart.

Probably user error, but it's supposed to be fun, right? *UPDATE: IT WAS USER ERROR
We just gave up. After a while, I was stubbornly doing this by myself. My kid is awesome, but he had moved on to other more productive pursuits leaving me by myself tangled in miles of blue plastic.I can't say it wasn't due to user error, but I couldn't. Check back in a year.*UPDATEWhen the 5.5 year old became bored of the battery-powered Hot Wheel track and invested in BluTrack, it was a lot more fun and successful. It required a great deal of patience and determination from us both, but this turned out to be a tremendous investment. One important note: the weight of each car matters quite a bit, and not all Hot Wheel or Matchbox cars will be able to make it through loops and curves. In the end, running all of his cars through our finished course and figuring out which ones where fast enough to complete the course was half of the fun.

Love the track. The ramps do work very well.
I have gotten the track for my 4yo son. It's an old school "bring your own imagination type of a toy. So far anyone who lays eyes on this thing can not possibly go without trying it for a few runs.I do believe the ramps are a bit flimsy. I think they should be made of a different material that would not feel like they are about to crack every time you mount the track into them.Packaging could use some improvement as well. (marginal to get a kid excited about what's in it) At the very least, I would make the sticker on the front considerably larger.Make sure you angle the track correctly. Initial descent must be as close to a 45 degree angle as possible to complete all the loops.

BluTrack
This was a gift for our 5 and 8 year old boys. It works, but it wasn't as easy to setup as we thought. Using a hair dryer to heat the track so you can shape it better does work also, it's just a hassle at times. After all the work to setup the track, the boys do love it, just lose their patience waiting for setup.
