Basic ponchos Good for an emergency only
I’ll start with the positives:-the ponchos are quite long so provide good coverage (my wife is 5”4” and it ends below her knees)-they’re not as voluminous as some other ponchos to more likely to stay in place if it’s windy-the sleeves come right down to the wrist and are secured with elastic to keep your sleeves dry-the hood has a drawstring so you can tie it in placeBut now for the negatives:-one poncho had a small hole at the base of the hood and the side seam was very weak and opening up, it won’t stay waterproof for very long at all. The seams are weak-the hood is small so it won’t keep the front of your hair and your face dry unless you’ve got a small head-they come in a large crinkly plastic bag (adult size 26x18cm, child’s slightly smaller), so they’re a bit big to pop in your pocket or a small bag (some ponchos pack a lot smaller)Although these ponchos would be OK in an emergency downpour, I think there are better quality and more compact options available.
