Bear Sees Colors (The Bear Books)

These books are easy and fun to read - the words and pictures are very engaging for my 11 month old and I love reading these books to her.

We love Bear Sees Colors. The story isn't as interesting as some of the other Bear books, but the illustrations are wonderful. This is probably my toddler's very favorite Bear book at the moment. We read it several times a week. I like that on the white pages (between each 'color' page) you get a small hint as to the next color through both the words/rhyming as well as in the illustrations. The illustrations are lots of fun, with many details to search out -- each color is easy to find (the whole page tends to be the color), so we can focus on finding smaller things like ants, worms, apples, corn, berries, cardinals, etc. That gives us lots to talk about in addition to simply reading the story.

Each color page is a symphony of color! The page before gives a sweet hint of the next color with a white background really encouraging kids to think with you and get excited when they get it right. This book really gives you the full feeling of the color illustrated in each photo. My toddler loves this book! I will say, the large hard cover version of this book is HUGE, and a little hard to read while a toddler is sitting in your lap. I have to prop it up against the book case when we read. I will say, I wish I had got the board book instead, but the hardcover is a lovely print and quality, just large.

I purchased this book for my low functioning Autstic Class to explore colors. I fell in love with this book and plan to order some more The Bear books. This book does an excellent job at keeping kids interested and learning about real things of different colors. For example yellow has honey, bee hive, bees, flowers everything you could see being yellow. Also the images are great for labeling which is another thing I am using the book for. Teachers Pay Teachers has resources to use with this book for my fellow teachers

We LOVE the Bear Books. The illustrations are incredibly cute. LOVE the characters. And the stories are generally just as sweet. However, I didn’t care for this one. I am returning it.1. The title shows the colors blue, purple, red, orange, yellow, and green. I did not read the reviews until I had already bought it. This book doesn’t include all of those colors. I assumed that it did. It only has blue, red, yellow, green and brown. This book should be rewritten to include all of the colors on the cover plus pink, brown and black! At the very least. Then I’ll happily buy it.2. By the third color the rhyming seems forced. It isn’t well written like the other Bear Books. Because of the lack of content and forced rhyming, this book is short and useless to teach my 2 year old colors in a fun way. I read it once and don’t ever see it being read again so why keep it?Please try again as this color (story)book has great potential!!

I really like this book. I only gave it 4 stars, although there is purple on the front cover the book itself leaves out that color. Seemed very odd to me that a color book would leave out one of the 6 main colors.

Loved this book for my preschool while we learned all about colors, mixing colors etc. This book is a great addition for this unit!

My boys stumbled across this story in the library and after the third time renewing it, I had to buy it! It’s such a fun story! It got my 3 year old genuinely interested in colours and reading, and my 6 year old with autism began expanding in the book by searching out and pointing to objects that matched the colours.It’s a great addition to any child’s book collection.

Quick delivery. We borrowed this book from the library and my daughter makes me read this to her every night before bed. Simple words, paragraphs just the right length with simple rhyming to keep my daughters attention. Beautifully illustrated with nice vibrant colours.The title page in our book has a smudge. I'm not sure what from, but doesn't bother us.
