Journey before Perry
Great music for 70s band Gregg Rolie Is the main singer does a great job if you know the duet singing in journey when Perry is in the band, this is who was singing with Perry. Great guitar by Neil and the rest of the band highly recommend it if you’ve never heard it.

The Best 3 Journey Albums Ever!!!
So happy I discovered this band. Never really liked the songs they played on the radio, guitar solos were always way too short. These Albums definitely deliver amazing songs that get stuck in your head all day long. My favorites include "In my Lonely Feelings", "You're on your Own", "Look into the Future" and "Karma". But, all the other songs are pretty Awesome too. Like having 23 of their Greatest Hits back to back.

Great, but not perfect, collection of the best Journey albums
This is a fabulous and affordable collection of most of the best Journey albums from the late 70's and early 80's. Sony's BIG mistake was leaving out the Departure album and including Raised on Radio. All of the albums in this collection appear to be the 1996 remasters based on the included tracks (see track listings below). Each of the CDs are come in a paper sleeve inside of a larger master sleeve. It's too bad that Sony didn't include a booklet with lyrics, band history, etc.The sound is excellent on each disc and my only real disappointment is the lack of the Departure album. For just over $20 plus shipping, this is still a great deal. I'll just pick up the Departure album separately.Track Listings-INFINITY1. Lights2. Feeling That Way3. Anytime4. La Do Da5. Patiently6. BLOWN-AWAY!
Absolutely love it!! My favorite album is "Frontiers" - there are several songs on there that I had never heard before, but are so valid in today's world. There's the haunting "Troubled Child" with lyrics that speak of runaways today, but was written decades ago. "Edge of the Blade" - power-hungry person celebrating his success, but you pissed me off, so be careful-what comes around goes around - awesome song! "Frontiers" - the lyrics so speak to me as it talks about the rise of technology. "Rubicon" is just a classic advisory - "the choice is ours to make." These four songs are so different from the ones that we are used to hearing - the power-ballads such as "Send Her My Love," "Faithfully," and "Open Arms." This album clearly shows that Journey could hard-rock with the best of them. I was just blown-away with Steve Perry's vocals - he never holds back and you can feel it in your heart that he is exposing his heart to his audience. We need Steve to come back and share himself with us again!

Nice Bargain, but.....
Music: 5 starsSound: 2 starsPackaging: 1 starThis is the pre-Steve Perry pop band.... back when their music was more adventurous and progressive.A pretty good bargain, BUT.....all 3 albums are in DESPERATE need of remastering (and ALL are deserving of it).The time is long past due to clean off the layer of "mud" and let this music shine!

Treat yourself to the real Journey!
If you've never listened to the first three Journey CD's you owe it to yourself to give them a listen. This collection has all of them together along with the original album artwork. Nothing against the Perry era Journey which I also like , but they were two different bands and music styles. Neal Schon just tears it up in these CD's and with Greg Rollie on vocals you've got a real winning combination! Give it a listen!

Three forgotten gems!
Whenever I have read about this discography of the band Journey, there is never any mention of the band's first three albums, Journey (1975), Look Into the Future (1976) and Next (1977). These albums don't feature the band's famous lead singer, Steve Perry and had more of a progressive rock approach. There's no real hit, no real pop melodies and more focused on musicianship rather than commercial success. This Original Album Classics collects all three albums in one cheap slipcase. The CDs are house in cheap miniature vinyl sleeve replicas. There's nothing fancy about it whatsoever. It's a budget collection and looks like one. The real quality is in the music and to my surprise, the music is VERY good. So good in fact that I question some of the music sources online that I have seen over the years rag on each one of these albums.Of the three, my favourite is the first two. Journey and Look Into the Future are quite a heavy guitar driven progressive rock and have an edge over a lot of the rock of the time period. These two albums work well played one after the other, feeling like a double album more than anything. Next is a little more into the psychedelic side of things with a slower more melodic pace and generally does its own thing. It's still has those hard hitting rock songs and a very enjoyable record but it doesn't sound quite as self indulgent or adventurous as its predecessors. The quality of the sound is pretty flawless for all three CDs. They're not loud and sound absolutely fantastic cranked up. This is how albums printed on CD should be. The prints of these albums sound a lot nicer than the first few Steve Perry era albums, which was a surprise. There's obviously been some love given to these albums and they hold up rather well because of it.For those who are getting into Journey, this is not your mother's hit making band. This is a serious group of musicians creating some fairly self indulgent music for musicians. They're very good albums but not for the easy listening crowd. I would personally recommend them, especially if you're into early to mid 70s Santana. You can't go wrong with all three albums for a tenner.
