I bought these to hold up a string of outdoor lights and I was worried they might bend, but not a chance! They are heavy-duty, and quite tall. TIP: I found the easiest way to get them into the ground was to drive the base in a bit with my foot, remove it, and hammer a long screwdriver into the marked holes, wiggle it around, then put the base in the now deeper holes. A few good stomps and they were in solid!

I had a 65” shepherds hook, but once the feeder was hanging off it, even with a squirrel baffle, they could jump up off the ground and hit the feeder.This 92” version (with the baffle added) works perfectly. I’ve seen squirrels stare wistfully at the feeder and move on.

I bought this Shepherd's hook and a squirrel baffle for my sunflower seed feeder. I put the baffle under the feeder on the pole. Previously, the squirrels would just climb up on the shorter poles I had purchased and pig out. With this taller Shepherd's hook and the baffle, the squirrels are "baffled" (ha!) by their inability to get to their seed. They still try to climb the pole, then hit the baffle, stop (and you can see their little brain trying to figure out what to do), and go back down the pole. There is still plenty of seed kicked off by the cardinals and finches, so I don't feel bad for the squirrels.

This item was purchased July 2017. Just a little over one year ago and look at the photo. I noticed the baffle on the ground and checked what happened. The pole rusted through and the baffle fell to the ground. Not ideal for Florida weather - not sure how it would do in any other location. Very disappointed.

Works well and is high enough. Unfortunately, the dang squirrels jump from my porch 6' out to the feeder because they can't climb up or down it. they just haven't figured how to get over the lid. So they hit the feeder by flying through the air and knock seed on the ground (lil' sh---)

Very high-quality and sturdy. You can hang very heavy items on this. I was a little worried as another person's review said it was bending from hanging a plant or something on it. If there's is bending it's because they're hanging an automobile on it or they are reviewing the wrong item is this is very thick and strong.

Excellent garden staff, especially for the price. Go to any garden center, even the ones at the big brick and mortar stores and you will not find a garden staff of this length, this thickness / sturdiness for this price. Won't be able to do it. I have spent twice as much at garden centers --- or more --- and while you might have color options at the garden stores? You will not find a better garden staff for the price than these. I am a buyer, a consumer. Not the manufacturer. I expect these to last many years.

This is absolutely perfect for birdhouses , I imagine it would also be appropriate for a lantern. I love it! It's exactly what I wanted, the height is awesome and it's sturdy and well crafted. It comes in one piece in a gigantic box, which is also a plus. It went right into my Northeastern Pennsylvania yard, half way through March, when the ground was definitely still slightly frozen. The hook is solid and straight. Highly recommend purchasing, it's the best well made one at this height for the purchase price.
