BACKGROUND: Talavera is a kind of tin-glazed ceramic made with white and black clay. Talavera is the oldest tin-glazed ceramic in America. Puebla city is the most important producer of Talavera in Mexico. Talavera comes from the 16 Century, thanks to the abundance of clay and art legacy in Puebla. Now Talavera has an International Denomination of Origin certificate. Therefore, it is not necessary to say "Talavera de Puebla". The world recognizes it as Talavera. DESIGN: Talavera is rich in color and design; its production is very detailed. Actually this craft making is an expression of art so much so that this Ceramic Mexican art has been showcased at The Museum of Modern Art in New York City. FASHION: Fashion began as an artisan trade, now fashion is reinventing itself and looking back on its origins, injecting luxury, distinction, and craftsmanship into this new revolution. Jewelry made with artisan techniques has a series of added values: - Manual work, a feature that increases the piece's value by removing series production. - There is a story behind each piece, from the history of the artisan, making the piece, to the region and country where it was born. - The culture and tradition of handmade jewelry makes us consumers more aware of our human origin. - Each piece is "unique" in its craftsmanship, allowing us to wear something exclusive. - These are timeless pieces with fashion that never goes out of style. These treasures bring with them years of tradition that will always remain true. - A bond is formed between the artisan and the customer. This piece of art is made by a human who leaves a part of himself in the piece and in turn passes it on to the future owner.
