First launched in 1990 from a Boeing B-52, with the three-stage 1932, exactly 90 years ago, the Junkers Ju-52/3m, the three-engine and by far the most important version of the legendary Auntie Ju, launched their maiden flight. The Lufthansa Ju-52 is a classic and unbroken favourite in the Herpa program, almost since the beginning days of the Wings series (item no. 019040). Less known, the British European Airways ten Ju-52 operated between 1946 and 1948. The UK government founded BEA in 1946, initially for Europe, from 1947 also for domestic flights. To comply with this, BEA flew a colourful mixed fleet, which also included ten Ju-52 captured by defeated Germany.
