Wardrobe Heaters 12 Watt Automatic White Dehumidifier

I bought a beautiful sounding second hand piano and was dismayed at how quickly the sound diminished in the space of a few weeks- the keys started to stick and it was like a different instrument. (I should mention that I teach piano and had recently moved my business from inside my house to a portacabin which is beside my house.) My piano tuner explained that the fluctuations in heat in the portacabin were causing the problems for the piano. He recommended a damp proof chaser and I can honestly say that this little beauty has restored my piano back to it's full sounding glory. It is placed inside the body of the piano and stays on all the time.

Excellent product - just enough warmth to dispel condensation/dampness without generating too much heat. Does not need to be on all the time but would not hurt if it was. We use it for about 4 or 5 hours at a time when humidity is high

I was so impressed at the speed of delivery. Came much sooner than expected. I am using it on a skirting in a cold corner which gets damp so am not sure how it will work as yet - early days. The decorator who fitted it said it was really easy. I also loved the tube it came in. I have put the remains of a roll of wallpaper in it so not only can I see what is in the tube but it will stay clean and dry.

This product seems to have arrived from USA with no safety consideration and no indication that it is rated 120 volts. I had to buy a two pin to three pin converter and only when the device seemed to overheat when first tried did I find the voltage rating on the tube. This was a low wattage heater for which a 1 amp fuse should be fitted, as referred to in one review and there is also reference to this unit coming fitted with 13 amp plugs with 13 amp fuses. I suggest this product is withdrawn from sale. I have returned the product via the preferred delivery.

Like a few other reviewers on here, bought these for a wardrobe against an outside wall that seemed to suffer from condensation and ultimately mould, especially on the back board. Having thrown good clothes out that had been spoiled a friend mentioned a similar problem in his house and this solution. I have to say these seem to be doing the trick, over the Autumn and Winter, especially when the heating was on, this seemed to get worse, often I could open the bedroom door at bed time and could smell that my Wife had been in the wardrobe and taken her clothes out ready for an early start in the morning and disturbed the air. 3 weeks after plugging them in (having cleaned the wardrobe too) not a hint of mouldy air smell, and the back board feels dry.

I think it will be OK as a wardrobe heater but be careful. Comes with a moulded 13 amp plug FITTED WITH A 13 AMP FUSE !!!. The heater end is also moulded so if you need to thread it though you'll have to cut off the plug and fit a new one. Probably worth fitting a lower rate fuse as well! Fitted with a 10 foot twin lead, no earth wire.

This isn't as effective as the packaging would suggest and if you are having issues with condensation and you have any normal sized cupboard then this isn't the heater for you. It isn't terrible but it could be a lot more effective.

Comes with a 2 pin plug, very easy to replace with uk plug. Gives great heat for my external wall wardrobe; plus I lined my walls it’s silver insulation and fitted a cage cover to stop anything touching the heater. Wardrobe no longer has any damp issues.
