The famous brand Fil Au Chinois has reproduced the packaging of their linen thread, sold in capsules in bygone days. This linen thread, lightly waxed to make sewing easier, is made in the north of France, the birthplace of du Fil Au Chinois. Each spool has 50 meters (54.68 yards) of thread. The capsule measures 3.5 cm (1.4") in diameter and 2.5 (1") cm in height. The top label has one of the oldest illustrations of the famous "Chinois", a character whose form evolved over the years.
