WOW
I am comparing this paddle to a bent shaft adventure technology euro blade and a traditional hand made wooden Greenland paddle - and WOW. I was skeptical about what difference if any a dramatically nicer paddle would make and I'm thrilled to be wrong. This is so light and intuitive to use. I paddled a kayak and a paddle board with it (sitting on the paddleboard) with a squirmy dog and found it very effective and reasonably durable for pushing off a sandy shore. Once I got moving it was no trouble at all to keep the vessels gliding even when my cadence was interrupted by the dog. My only complaint is that the connection between the joints can be sticky and difficult to separate, but I'd rather that than the alternative of a weak joint. I really love this paddle and can't wait to get back out on the water with it!

Well Made and Super-Lightweight
I have been wanting to try a Greenland paddle, and this is my chance. I currently have a small fleet of touring kayaks and two full carbon Euro paddles (an Epic and a Werner). It’s not quite kayak season yet where I am (I don’t have cold water gear), but I am very impressed with this Crossnova paddle and can’t wait to try it.PROS:The paddle comes well protected with each half in a bubble wrap sleeve, and the two sleeves in a snug cardboard box. The paddle itself is beautiful with the diamond pattern weave. It has a smooth, non-glossy finish with no texture, but it does have a slightly grippy feel in my dry hands. At the premium price for this paddle ($399 as I’m writing this), I expected quality construction and finish and those are everything I could ask for. The other expectation at this price point is that the weight matches the specification of 590 +/- 25 grams and it does! I weighed the paddle on an accurate digital postal scale and got 604 grams (21.3 oz). This is an impressively light paddle. The paddle is also impressively stiff. It flexes just a tiny bit if I press a blade against my carpeted floor, but I think it’s stiffer than my full carbon Epic and Werner paddles. The joint is also nice and snug. It slides together easily but there is no looseness or play when it’s assembled. It is an “old fashioned” push pin joint, but I don’t mind that. The push pin joint is simple and light weight, and there are no proprietary parts that could break. There is also an internal hex shaped engagement of the two halves so that when you slide the pieces together, the halves must be rotated to engage the hex. That way, the hex aligns the two halves for rotation and the push pin only holds the two halves together.I measured the following dimensions (see photos): Overall Length = 220 cm as advertised); Blade Length to Shoulder = 84 cm; Center Loom Length to Start of Shoulder = 50 cm; Blade Width = 8.5 cm.CONS:There really aren’t any, but note that this does not come with a storage bag, and some high-end Greenland paddles have replaceable plastic tips for the blades and this does not. I did find it a little hard to get the paddle apart the first time. With the internal hex shape, you can’t rotate the two halves to help get them apart. I think I will need to be very careful to keep the joint clean to ensure I can get the halves apart. Also, Crossnova is not a long-established manufacturer but the quality of this paddle tells me that they are serious about making a competitive product.OVERALL:This is a very impressive paddle. It’s expensive, but I’m not aware of any other Greenland paddle with this low weight that can be had at this price point. This paddle is stiff, light and beautifully constructed.

Great product!
These are ridiculously light! Great looking too. They glide through the water quietly and easily. It is like holding a feather. Pricey, yes, but worth it if you are an avid kayaker who wants the best.
