This is the hard wiring kit for the RoadHawk HD in car camera system. It has a total of 4m of cable with an inline fuse. There is a filter box inline which reduces interference to and from the camera. Inside the filter box are componants which will cut the power to the camera should the vehicle's voltage drop reducing the risk of flattening the battery. You can connect this kit up to a permanant 12v supply (direct to the battery) or to a circuit on the ignition so the camera only powers up when the engine is running. This kit has two wires. Black = Negative (earth) Red = Postive (12v)

Essential for hard wiring
This kit is very necessary for hardwiring the camera into a vehicle as it includes a module that allows the camera to power down properly rather than just effectively fail due to power going off.The wiring provided is plenty long enough for most vehicles and should allow the installer to find power some distance away but still be able to run the lead around the windscreen to your chosen mounting point.The only issues - and they are minor - is that the wires are not well soldered onto the module and are very thin so need careful handling. That and the sticky pads for the wire on the screen don't stick well even on a properly cleaned screen.Overall this is good kit, and is better and neater than a trailing lead to a 12v socket.

Had an accident and needed the video footage to show who was at fault. Hard wiring into the crashed vehicle was worth every penny, this is to allow the camera to continue it's epic performance without hanging wires from 12v sockets.
