Mind Games – The Ultimate Collection 2CD

all I can say is its a good double cd but I would buy the box set as it is amazing. Anyway just letting people who are reading that disc 1 is faulty it is not. It purposely shows 90 tracks on it as it is one of Sean Lennons mind games. Both disc have hidden tracks on them which you can play if you look on the web on how to find them. But I do think it depends on the age of your players. I can't play them on my dvd, Blu ray or one of my 20 year old players. But one I do have a cd player that does play hidden Tracks. So don't send pics back because it says 90 tracks with 78 tracks with nothing on it. Enjoy the new remix and play the game that Sean has set you out to do.

It's a great production forever been my fave lennon solo work but these mind games 99 tracks on cd1 and bonus cuts mentioned in the booklet but none to mention of , mind games indeed for £20

First the good news.. The remixes on CD1 (the original album) have made the album sound brilliant.. Plus, the remixes on CD2 provide an alternative and yet superb version of the album. BUT (and it is a big but) this package is fatally flawed. 1) The booklet provides credits for two tracks ("I'm the greatest -ultimate mix" and "You are here - Out take take 4" , neither of which are on either CD!. 2) Unforgivably, CD1 has been mastered with the 12 album tracks followed by 78 tracks of 24 seconds silence! Why? For a 2CD set that's been heavily promoted as Definitive its just shoddy and not acceptable. I can only imagine what John Lennon would say were he to see how shabbily his album is being treated.

I thought the re -mix was much better than previous releases , but the outtakes disc is even better ! .Unfortunately I cannot locate the 2 bonus tracks -any ideas?

From the beginning of the very first song the record jumped. I'd heard the Czech pressing plant which was used for this wasn't great and now i know. Apparently there have been alot of complaints about this. So disappointed, been looking forward to this re-release for years. I wouldn't waste your money on the vinyl. Either get on CD or stream, not worth it.

This cd as been done so you cant rip it for personal usenot happy just a money grab

Happy with re mix sounds crystal clear but unhappy with no tagging info for ripping to my phone etc...pc....90 tracks and can't find so called hidden bonus tracks....stupid idea that's wasting my time....sent this back as cannot be assed to bother with all this faffing about...listen now for free on various sites so save my money and spend it on my dog instead...

Considered second tier Lennon when originally released back in 1973, the ultimate Mind Games makes the case that it should be right up there with POB and Imagine in John Lennon's post-Beatles legacy. I'm not arguing. I've had the album in my collection in various forms since the week it was originally released. Liked it but didn't play it all that often. This new ultimate remix/remaster likely changes that. I've listened to it all the way through twice already, and I'm amazed at the improvement. First of all, the clarity makes the lyrics much more obvious -- this is an amazingly optimistic record! Musically, it's much more adventurous than I ever realized. And Lennon's vocals, in this mix, are a revelation. The track list is well thought out and flows much more smoothly than I had remembered. The reissue is beautifully packaged and includes fine, insightful liner notes. And I'm especially happy that lyrics are included. The bonus outtakes disc is fun (for comparisons) but won't be played nearly as much as the original album remix. Five out of five rising solo stars and highly recommended to fans of JOL, Beatles, and '70s classic rock.

The crisp production considerably improves Mind Games, which has never been considered John's best work. Hopefully Walls & Bridges will receive the same treatment. What I don't understand about the 2CD version (at least the copy I received) is why the 12 tracks on CD1 are followed by 78 silent tracks, each 24 seconds long. A manufacturing defect or just another mind game?
