I bought this camera for my teen's birthday, and it's been amazing! On our recent camping trip, he made a full album, capturing every moment effortlessly. He loves how lightweight and portable it is. The battery life is fantastic - he simply switches between charged batteries, so he's always ready to shoot. The autofocus and macro function work wonderfully for detailed photos. He's been using it since July, and it's still in excellent condition. Given how he's broken all his other toys, it's impressive that he's stuck with this one for two months!

I can see it pass through crisp and clear clear and back into out of focus again, as it is trying, but correctly identifying when a subject is in focus seems to be an issue. Perhaps a firmware update could remedy this, but I'm not holding out hope of finding a source for updated firmware. Not being able to focus particularly well also means that the 16x digital zoom doesn't look great, since you are digitally enlarging a slightly out of focus image which just emphasizes the AF problem.My camera also did not come with an SD card as advertised. I assume this was an oversight so I can't really mark the camera down for this without knowing if it was an intentional omission or accidental.Several menu items have the options "Open" and "Closed" instead of "On" or "Off". Not a major issue once you know that, but still, a little obtuse of a translation.
