SoundBox HD: Soundbar + Freeview Play smart TV box + Streaming + Recording = all in one place

Lovely, little, smooth Netgem Soundbox! Perfect for replacing the ludicrous sound quality of my large smart tv with outstanding sound quality. Ridiculously easy to set up and also to link with Alexa (note: if your box asks you to update, update it! it won't link with Alexa until you do). The soundbox replaces a very long soundbar and the quality is just as good and is so much more unobtrusive - such a lovely little box!We had a slight issue with HD sound through the tv and TIVO box to the soundbox (just a hissing sound or silence) but this was speedily rectified through Customer Services who dealt with the issue from start to finish with the utmost patience, kindness and humour - so all credit to them for faultless customer care.

Delivery was super quick and the set up process was very easy, especially with the help of the online video. Design is sleek and it fits nicely in front of our tv. Haven’t set up Alexa with it yet so can’t comment on it, but hoping to set it up soon. Speaker sound is very good. Only thing it doesn’t offer (yet...I’m hoping it will one day) is bbc I player and other catch up apps and also Netflix which we use a lot as a family.

Possibly good for Freeview. This does not work well with a Virgin V6 box. The first Soundbox arrived promptly but it was impossible to get any sound from it. The Netgem support chat was helpful and I soon received a replacement. The second box was functional except when using it with the Virgin V6 box. All I got was a machine gun noise. Eventually I found out I had to change the V6 sound default from Dolby to pcm. Now it does work but it does not come on by itself, each time I have to switch the box on first on and off to get it to work. Sound for Virgin TV is ok, crackling at times and volume is capped at a low volume. I tried new HDMI cable but no difference. It is only slightly better than the Sony TV speakers, just quieter. There is no Netflix either. I am already considering to upgrade to a better Soundbar. - update: now I had it for a while, the static crackle is terrible. Won’t come on by itself. I am throwing this out.

One of the best Audio-Visual products that I have bought recently. Extremely easy and intuitive to set up, a great sound even though it does not have a separate subwoofer (edit: subwoofers are build in, according to the documentation) and one of the best User Interfaces I have used.The system comes with a year's subscription to the excellent Amazon Prime service, which means you have a vast library of movies and TV Series at your disposal apart from the usual catch up TV (not to mention next day delivery of all your Amazon shopping).What I loved most was the ability to control it through the Echo dot (yes, I am that lazy!).All and all, a great idea of a device (soundbar and combined streaming and on demand media controller), that makes you wonder it was not thought of before. Highly recommended

This was one of the Amazon search for 'Samsung TV speaker' returns. It was highly recommended so I bought it.I tried it out and found that it was not compatible with my Samsung TV (other than direct phono connection) and the sound was not much better than the built-in TV speakers. It was primarily a simpler, slower version of the likes of a Fire TV or Roku box with little speakers. Fine if you want a limited streaming box with modest speakers but I was expressly looking for a worthwhile improvement on the TV speakers which in my view this box it not .

Very good sound quality, the only problem is, if like me you have a Freesat TV you will be unable to receive live TV..I am currently seeking advice to establish if it is even possible.Update after much consulting with Netgem I can confirm this SoundBox will not work with a FREESAT television. For me a waste of money.

Fantastic soundbar ! A must-have when you want an all-in-one device providing a "homecinema" sound output on otherwise flat TV speakers. Set-up was truly easy & self-explanatory (a bit like a router) with a instictive & attractive navigation system. The remote control is small & handy, when you switch the box on the TV automatically switch onto the corresponding channel (as a record button on it so presumably the feature will be added later on). The smooth connection to Amazon Prime is included for the 1st year (a saving of £79, which makes the Sounbox very affordable) is just like using the Freeview channels with no difference of sound or picture quality. Catch-up channels apps should be available very soon so looking forward to de-clutter soon to be unrequired bulky devices connected to my TV. Highly recommended ****

Absolutely love it! Sound, look, options, ease of installation are all worthy of 5*.Also have to say that Netgem customer service called me within 2 hours of me receiving the product and they have been so hopeful answering some of my queries. For example, I found out that if you want to play music from your Alexa device through the Netgem speakers, you can only do so on the Dot via Aux cable and you cannot do so if you have Echo. Hope that helps other buyers!Just hoping Netflix gets added soon! Customer Service predict it will be available by the end of the year.
