Not the mat I was hoping for!.
Sadly I didn't like what this mat did to the sound of my Clearaudio Concept tt.It made everything sound compressed and a bit lifeless. It just sucked the space and air out of all recordings. It sounded tighter but just wasn't musically engaging or enjoyable. I messed with VTA and VTF for ages but couldn't get any improvements in sound. I actually heard less detail with the mat in place as well.I've heard good results with a rega tt using this mat but with the Delrin platter on my Clearaudio it just doesn't do anything possitive.I think this will possibley work better with thinner glass or metal platters.

Clear and bright sound
I'm using a Rega RB300 with a AT 440MLa on a Thorens TD 166 BC. The sound with the Archomat is more open and bright.I also use a Michell record clamp, because the mat is then really flat.

Took the pleasure out of listening to records :-(
This basically has sucked the life out of my LPβs - your mileage may vary but this feels like an expensive way to spoil my listening pleasure. The original platter mat for my turntable is much better (installed on an Audio Technica LP5 with an AT440mlb cartridge)

Every vinyl lover should have it.
A very good product. It significantly improves the listening experience.

Second thoughts
I lived with an Acromat for nearly two years, but have just taken it off my acrylic platter, and immediately realise what the Achromat took away. It was smoothing some life and air out of the music; (enough to matter). If you need to tone down the brightness of the music, or of your system, it will do it. It greatly reduced static problems, looked terrific and stayed firmly put, without any warping. However, those who like listen carefully for space and detail on a decent mid range MM system should, in my opinion, think twice. As for high MC systems, I am not qualified to say.

Expensive but seem to work
Replaced the supplied rubber Matt of my Technics turntable. Had to adjust the arm up as is 5mm thick and ridged, canβt say yet of a sonic improvement but certainly no βlossβ of sound quality. Records spin flat.
