Seraffyn's Oriental Adventure

Many better sailors and writers than I have extolled this book's virtues,m any in books of their own, where they credit their love of sailing to having read Lin parade.

Brought this book years ago along with all of theParkey Cruising series but lost them in a move. I purchased these to reread and keep in my library. Lin is one of the best writers of sailing, she tells it like it is in a very interesting way. I now have almost all of her books.

I loved reading about all the new ports and people they met on their journey. The storm tactics they used worked and more lives would be saved if others would use these ideas to ride out storms.

I have dreamed of sailing around the world, but I recognize that it is not going to happen for me. But I still like to read the first person view of the person that is adventurers enough to do it! Lin and Larry have lived the adventure and I have followed them by reading all of the books detailing their life together. I have enjoyed each of their sailing trips!

An interesting read notwithstanding very dated..Well detailed.. Always a wonder to read how resourceful They are(of course in their own writing) A good read about resourcefulness, and the helpfulness of the human spirit.. But don't expect these places to be the same today

Well, I just finished the last book of the Saraffyn odyssey and am sad that it's over. As an old retired "land lubber" who is pretty happy with his past and present life, I still find that I'm envious of the life Lin and Larry have lived. I wonder if there are any sailing schools in East Texas......

So far I love it. I didn't finish yet, but I love the way Lin writes... I'm only a couch sailor, but feel as tough I'm there where the action is. It would be fair to say that the book is a must for those who want to cross through the Suez Canal

Well written full of interesting anecdotes not only about life at sea but also what it is like to cope in close confinement as a couple.

Lin tells a good story and it is authentic
