Birkenstocks are brilliant
I bought my first pair a few years ago and was introduced to them by a colleague who swore by them. I didn't really get what all the fuss was about and always considered them to be a bit overpriced for what is essentially a summer shoe. How wrong I was! After buying my first pair and having worn them to death, I promised myself I would get a smarter pair. I've just had delivery of the Gizeh in Black Patent and they are everything I wanted. They're smart and can be dressed up or down and are SO comfy. I'm currently 31 weeks pregnant and have had to let the strap out to accommodate my swollen feet and they are STILL comfy!I would imagine for those people who don't like 'thong' or 'toe post' designs, these wouldn't be their thing, but I absolutely love them.Like most shoes you do have to be careful of sizing, so I would suggest trying some on in a shop before buying online. I'm usually a UK size 8, and I wear a Birkenstock EU size 40 as they are quite wide.Don't bother with cheap immitations- Birkenstocks are wonderful and will last for years if you look after them.

Great Sole, Thick Toe Peg
I ordered these sandals to address my need for a supportive, and acceptably attractive, summer shoe. Overall, I feel that the shoes have meet these needs. The foot bed was comfortable from the start and the adjustable strap was very helpful for getting the fit just right. My only caution concerns the toe peg: it's a bit wider than most other sandals I've had and, for me, it has taken some getting used to. But I do have small feet, so suspect this might not be a problem for others!

Silver Birkenstocks
These comfortable sandals, are a really good fit (though they can rub a bit at first),and are stylish too. I got them in silver, and find (despite the fact that me feet are still growing) that they can last for up to 2 years.the toe grips are good, and stop your feet from slipping, like cheap flipflops. They sole of the shoe can rubon the foot, and create a slightly tanned look- but that's just extreme nit picking!!! Not ideal for long walks, Iwould recommend Birkenstocks to anyone. One small tip though: don't leave them in the rain, or it takesages for them to dry out! Definitely worth all that money!!

Just fantastic!
These are my very first pair of Birkies. I've always wanted to buy one but hesitated. Now i know how wrong i was. Now i know why everyone is talking about them. They are so comfortable and supportive - more than i could ever imagine. I usually have swollen feet and i'm normally a size 39 EU/6 UK. After reading some reviews, i decided to buy a 38 medium and they are exactly as they must be. During the 2-3 first days they didn't feel strange as written at some reviews, but they did feel a little narrow. After 4 days, they fit perfectly and sooo light in weight.Highly recommended.Next summer i'll be back for one pair for sure!

Splitting cork and soul
Bought these a year ago but haven’t worn them often as I’m in the UK. Cork is splitting and soul is loosening at toe. I expect them to last longer due to the brand name and price. No response from seller.

When you get past the sizing confusion, these are the best shoes in the world
The sizing was very confusing since the Unisex sizes differ from the gendered range, and it is important to note that there is no wide fitting- the normal width comes up wide. I was sure I had had a wide fit before and hunted high and low for one, but that turned out not to be the case. These sandals/ flipflops are the most amazing footwear I have ever purchased and I will buy another pair exactly the same once this pair wears out (these were a replacement for my last identical pair). I truly think that there is no summer shoe that is so comfortable, durable and ergonomically healthy than the Birkenstock Gizeh. As someone prone to pronation, the summer months would otherwise be woefully spent in enclosed trainers with innersoles. With these, I was able to traverse hotter climes without causing blisters, collapsed arches or excessively sweaty feet!

Plastic thong
I love Birkenstocks and have been buying them for many years. However, in this style, the plastic thong was hard and hurt between my toes. Had to return product.

Uncomfortable, painful toe piece
The thong toe piece is a made from hard plastic with no covering making this style of Birks extremely painful to wear.
