Mattheson's claim was quite accurate: the director of music in Hamburg had less need to fight for recognition than ever. His leading role in the musical life of northern and central Germany was undisputed. Telemann attempted to give each poem the music that it could endure: each new musical poetry consequently stimulated an attempt at an artistically suitable musical realization. Based in Rhineland, the Rheinische Kantorei and Das Kleine Konzert are a network of professional musicians from across Europe who typically work in different contexts, but participate in joint projects and tours.

Great music and performonce , shoddy CD manufacturing quality control
I was initially delighted to receive this value priced collection of excellent performances ;my delight turned to dismay when I saw a couple of scratches on one of the discs ( no 3);Amazon promptly sent a replacement and returning the defective set was a breeze.Unfortunately the replacement set also contained a CD with scratches from the factory , this time CD no 5 , which made the disc unplayable I have over 10000 CDs in my collection and this is the first time that I buy a brand new and sealed set that has such damage. As a matter of fact I have bought many used CDs , especially of items not "in print" and never encountered this problem ! No issues with Amazon Some serious issues with Capriccio records CD pressing/ packing where the damage appears to be occurring.I for one will never buy from this label unless I hear that the problem at the plant was identified and fixed !
