Finally had to test it out.
I keep one of these in my truck. I hadn't yet had the opportunity to use it until yesterday. It worked exactly as it should helping two cars up the hill and out of the apartment complex where I live. We had to use it multiple times per vehicle due to the length of the hill. I saw no issues afterwards as far as the condition of the links or the treads themselves.The tread stayed in place on ice and very heavily packed snow. I was very pleased with the function and both drivers were interested in purchasing one of their own.

Bought this for added protection in snow country
No complaints - fits beautifully in the small carrying case in the car's trunk. Have not yet used it though - check other reviews for this - at this point I am just happy my away-to-college daughter has it tucked away easily in her trunk.
