Another good book in the series
I am a big fan of the enemies to lovers trope and this book is a great example. Marksen doesn’t do himself any favours in the way he treats Olivia and he is completely vicious with his revenge. Olivia is a great mix of a good girl with a backbone of steel and her ability to endure Marksen treatment while also rationalising everything is very refreshing. Overall a great book and story. Can’t wait for book 3

Enjoyed
It took me a little while to like Marksen although I did realise why he did it to Olivia at points he was quite awful but enjoyed how their story played out and loved the ending and looking forward to Harrison’s book next

DECADENCE ATS ITS FINEST
Couldn't have thought of a better way to get revenge after all there are no limitations in resources.A couple of shockers, twists and turns that make the second book in the series worthy.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Kidnapping His Best Friends Little Sister For Revenge
This book is perfect if you love;* Forced Proximity* Alpha Anti-Hero* Obsessed Male Lead* Enemies To Lovers* Revenge Plot* Multiple POV's (4+)* Unique and Detailed Spicy Scenes* Kidnapping/CaptureI had the absolute time of my life reading this!!! i was a little worried at the start that it wouldn't be my cup of tea because it has been some time since i read a dark romance book, but this didn't disappoint at all. i especially loved that we were thrown right into the action without really knowing too many details, and i feel like it helped me connect with Olivia a lot since we (as the reader) knew about the same amount she did. This whole book had me questioning everything and also had me changing my feelings for all the characters which i really enjoyed too! sometimes its nice to have negative character development (her father! i mean come on what the hell man! talk about not giving a damn about anyone else but yourself) and sometimes its refreshing to have a character who is struggling to decide if they want to be good, or commit to the bit and be stubborn, not admit that they were wrong, and be bad (obliviously talking about Marksen...)I really enjoyed how the story progressed. the pacing felt perfect and there wasn't a single moment that i was bored or not interested in what was happening. it was also really exciting to have the multiple POV's from outside the main characters. I feel like it really added some depth to the world, and made for the perfect opportunity to understand their family dynamics more.i don't say this often either, but i actually thought that the sex scenes helped to add something to the overall plot. usually they're just included for funsies or because the book is an adult romance, but they really had an effect on both of the characters. It was clear as day that the situations they found themselves in (yes, at Marksen's creation) were effective at breaking and reshaping Olivia, and opening her eyes to a completely different world (yes, i'm talking about the interactive theater scene)The one thing i didn't really like was how long it took Marksen to stop being the bad guy, not to mention how hot and cold he ran with Olivia, but it also made the inevitable happy ending all the sweeter, and it also made sense that his attitude and behavior didn't suddenly change overnight.Overall, a really good book that i devoured in one sitting!!

3.5★
3.5★/53🌶/5Humiliated man is another example of a dangerous man nonetheless. In his mind nothing that might happen forward could be worse or cause more rumors/speculations or damage to his reputation than the initial reason. Plotting revenge and demise of those that wronged him, a retaliation for stolen bride, are the only valid objectives that matter. And what’s the best way to crush your enemy, when you cannot hurt what’s most important to him, his wife? Second most important thing to him - his younger sister and her reputation. Kidnap her, hold hostage and ruin her image and everything she worked for. Regardless the fact she didn’t have anything to do with what happened, even when tries to help him find the reason to stop all the madness. But, what if said kidnapper falls for his trap? Double questioning his actions at some point, start having feelings toward his hostage, becoming obsessive and possessive to the point he might not want to ever let her go…

Great book, carries on from the first in the series
This is the second book in the series, and wow, it doesn’t disappoint, carrying on from the end of the first book. After Luc stole his bride Marksen is looking for revenge, and kidnaps Luc’s sister, Olivia, from her brothers wedding reception. He discovers that Olivia is not quite what he was expecting, their story is hot, well written and will keep you turning the pages until the very end - and then counting the weeks and days until the next in the series is released. Loved it.

Blew me away
Another fabulous story in the series! I wasn't too sure on the characters to begin with, but I'm glad i stuck with them as i found the more i got to know them the more i liked them. Olivia was such a strong heroine, despite my initial thoughts and Marksen was so obsessed (my favourite type). The plot though was so strong, dark and addictive with loads of action, it really ticked all of my boxes, cant wait for the next in series!

Missed the mark.
This one left me disappointed and feeling somewhat grubby. Marksen did not redeem himself in any way and came across as an ineffectual man having a temper tantrum. Despite controlling Olivia through threats and physical brutality, he appeared not to be able to exercise any self control despite at times recognising how heinous his acts were. One wonders how he was able to run his family's company effectively, or whether he was only a figurehead playing at running a business. In the end, his revenge was more important to him than Olivia's feelings; her utter humiliation and public degradation were needed to make himself feel better. He did not even have the gumption to acknowledge his mistake to her and apologise. That would have gone some way to establish his character as more than a not so bright bully. Instead, like a coward, he shifts the blame for his actions to the person who so easily manipulated him into kidnapping Olivia, conveniently ignoring that fact that his actions once he kidnapped her were his own.

Another Dark Hot read the Gilded Decadence series
After Luc had publicly embarrassed Marksen by stealing Amelia on their wedding day and then Luc had fallen deep in love with her and married her himself.. Marksen decided that it was payback Time so at the wedding he kidnapped luc’s baby sister Olivia. Marksen was so hell bent on revenge that he actually went out to destroy Olivia by not only taking pictures that he used as blackmail but besides punishing Olivia he also took her virginity.. what Marksen didn’t expect to fall in love with Olivia as did Olivia who even as a teenager had loved him!! This book is the 2nd book in the Gilded decadence series’s.. I was given as an ARC SO this why I’m not sharing more. I will tell you loved this book and have even purchased the E-Book.

Zero grovel
The MMC did unforgivable things to the FMC, and SHE went after him without him saying sorry. He didn’t deserve her at all.

Fast paced read!
This particular story didn't work for me, but I'm still intrigued by the upcoming stories that I have no doubts I'll continue with the next installments. All in all a quick read.

My mistake
I loved the first book of the series so much that when this one became available I grabbed it but big mistake on my part. In the first book, the characters grew so much that I expected the same from this one but this one I really disliked. I mean the H thinks he loves the h but keeps on destroying her life because he wants to hurt her family. And then she just accepts because love. The only thing that I did like is at least she earns her freedom by herself. So much importance is given to her virginity that I wasn’t sure which century, they were talking about. I am sorry but totally not worth it.

Fan-bl00dy-tastic!! I need more stars
Marksen Dubois thinks by kidnapping Olivia Manwarring he can get revenge on her brother Luc. But he underestimated Olivia. Greatly.A stunning and sizzling book in a series that continues to expose secrets and much so more. I felt this book is even more sizzling than the first, with the heat ramping up a notch or few. In many ways it reminded me of the Breaking the Belle series co-authored by Alta. I can't wait to see where the series heads next...I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
