Cake and I Scream: . . . Being Bossy Isn't Sweet (Books for Nourishing Friendships Series)

Excellent book to help little ones understand that being bossy will distance your friends. The puns and language in the book is so funny it even entertains the adult reader.

I am a Preschool Special Education teacher and I work with children with language and social skills challenges. This book will work well for kids appropriately 6 1/2 -8 years old, but it was a little too high level for my students. I needed a book about bullying behaviors, and this would work well for the older kiddos. However, there are too many idioms which my students don't understand yet, so it obscured the bullying message. For example, on one page, the 'bully' ice cream says, "You're so dense! what do you know? to the Cake. Followed by: "That took the cake." My students won't understand the word dense, how it relates to cakes, and then, how it relates to bullying. Again, this would be great for slightly older students, but just not for my class. :).The writing itself and the illustrations are great though, FYI.

I love this book my daughter loved the book. Highly recommended
