This one is a bit different. It's a good scanner. It scans well, understands the common 1d and 2d formats, is easily configurable, etc. etc. etc. To be honest, I've tried out dozens of different scanners, and they all do that stuff - that's table stakes. In fact, many - even cross-brand - appear to use the same internals.As far as I am concerned, what makes the difference between a good scanner and a great scanner are ergonomic and utility features, e.g. a little screen where you can preview the scanned code, good drop protection, etc. From that perspective - this scanner stands out. It is profoundly quick and easy to "park" in its cradle, but most of all - that removable battery, with a spare! The gun charges in its dock, while the spare battery also charges in the dock - so you always have a hot spare. That's handy.The only think keeping me from declaring this the BEST SCANNER EVER is the lack of the configuration/preview screen - but that really only matters for certain applications ...

The TEMI TMSL-59CR is a fantastic handheld Bluetooth capable barcode scanner. The fact that this one comes with a spare battery and a nice charging base that nicely stores a spare battery just in case it does in the middle of an event on you. I love it! The cradle is said to be able to connect up to 8 scanners at the same time. The scanner can also handle parsing the data contained in the code data, which is an issue that I've had to contend with multiple times in the past. The base even has a locate function to assist in finding misplaced scanners! The only issue that I ran in to so far is that you need to keep the manual handy if you wish to adjust settings on it. To configure the scanner or to turn it off immediately (it will go to sleep and then eventually shut down on its own), you must scan a barcode to change the setting. If would be great if the base had a spot to store the manual or some sort of easy access laminated code card for this. Other than that, I love this scanner and highly recommend it as probably one of the best scanners you'll find for whatever your barcode scanning needs are!
