I work in the industrial field. This would be the only place I would use these wire twisters. They are more for professional use. They appear to be made of solid metal, heavy duty alloy to be exact, so they have some weight to it. It’s probably not recommended, but on a couple of occasions, I have used them in my mini hand held drill and they got the job done rather than using a drill gun. But, a pro drill gun should be the way to go with use. Makes my job incredibly simple and easy at work.

Thes are rather simple tools and i won't need them often as I only undertake an electrical project once a year or so, but I love how unified these make the twists. The wires snug tight to each other, they look clean and neat, and I feel like that all leads to the connection being better too. Once twisted with the drill, it's super easy to twist a cap on to finish them off.Small victory, but saves my fingertips and makes my work look more professional, so I would recommend them.

As noted in the description, these tools are suitable for 10 ga. (green) and for lower gauge 6-10 ga (orange) which is even a larger wire. Most residential wiring is composed of 12 – 14 ga. wiring, which these do work somewhat, but not efficiently. Additionally, the center wire must be pre-stripped as the tool does not strip the center wire before inserting in the tool. The center wire is always needed when using these tools. I attempted to wrap two wires only using the outsize slots, which worked but was clumsy in the wrapping.In the US, this method of wrapping a wire is probably not recommended as the center wire could be pulled out from the wrapped bundle after it has been installed since the mechanical connection between the center wire and the other wires is a torus, and when wrapped I could tell that the mechanical connection was not a tight secure fit. In my initial wrapping tests, I took the center wire and folded it down over the wrapped portion to prevent any center wire pullout. But then this is circumvented by having to cut the excess wire off the wrapping in order to use wire nuts. And surely no one in the US is using electrical tape to insulate the wrapped connection.This method also requires a larger amount of bare stripped wire in order to make the warp, whereas a simple wire nut only needs 3/4” exposed wire at best depending on the number of wires being wrapped. Additionally, be concerned about electrical codes when wrapping a bundle of 5 wires in one wrap, many local codes will not allow that type connection.I also found that getting three wires into the tool, then using pliers to hold the wires in one hand while using the drill to twist the wires, was a little too much effort for the benefit it provides.I was excited about getting this tool, but then after using it, found the excitement dwindle away.

I have some remodeling that includes re-wiring the kitchen so we ordered these to help with the wiring install. These twisters are amazing. I can spin up 2 to 6 wires and then have them ready to wire cap. These don't twist smaller wire, 12 or 14 gage, as smoothly as they would do for larger wire, but they work well enough get wire ready to cap. I am glad I ordered these since they will speed up the re-wiring I need to do. These are great in my opinion.

Ok I thought this was yet another gimmik but I was wrong. This not only strips but twists perfectly. Simply attach to any drill and go to town.

This works well and makes twisting and stripping wires much easier.Just keep in mind the rated gauge of 10.It can work with 12 but not as well.
