Good cut quality, machine is good value excellent weight accuracy is spot on. Power cable is long enough for most jobs.

Brought to cut a kitchen countertop. went through quite easily an didn't burn the wood, like others I have brought. Chipped the laminate a little, probably because i didn't bother the mask it off.The blade attached easily with a clear arrow showing which way the machine spins.Maybe because it's new it did give of that motor smell I usually associate with a motor that's struggling to power through.

Exactly what I expect for the money. Bought for cutting down a bunch of scaffold boards. Did the job fine. Arrived promptly.

The Galax electric saw is a well designed and manufactured unit for home use.The use of hard plastics for the all important safety guard means it is unlikely to survive life on the back of a builders van but is perfect for occasional home use where it can be stored securely away.I selected this model particularly because it had capacity for a full depth cut at 45 degrees of a 225 x 47mm timber.The set up of the saw was straight forward although I had to look hard to find the pushbutton for the rotation lock used to hold the motor shaft while tightening the blade.I was cutting a 4.2mtr plank so set up a series of blocks under the plank on the ground to prevent it moving as the cut neared the end.There is a small black lever behind the guard which raises the base plate revealing the full depth of the blade. It was necessary to partially rotate the guard to facilitate this.I took the option to connect a vacuum cleaner to the saw to keep dust to a minimum, but I had to wrap the cleaner nozzle with some tape to match diameters.So I was ready, I carried out a dummy run on a scrap piece of wood to test the alignment of the saw guide to my guideline.This was a bit fiddly as you cannot see the blade cut start point very easily and as I was cross cutting the timber couldn't use the width guide.Positioned my self safely with (goggles on), on the floor and after switching on the vacuum proceeded to make the cut. There was resistance as the guard moved up and I guess this uses a simple spring rather than the assisted counterbalance of more expensive machines.This took some extra effort but once it was fully open the resistance of the cut was as expected.I made 8 cuts consecutively without any labouring of the motor and was very impressed by the saw.I would recommend it for home use.
