Better than I expected!
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by these smart plugs. I imagined all sorts of issues when setting them up but it ended up being the closest to plug and play as you could possibly imagine! I opened the box everything was set out nicely and the two plugs were available and ready to go, I plugged the first plug into the wall and downloaded the Meross app, the app successfully found the plug and allowed me to seamlessly set up the plugs connection to the network. With that the first stage of what I wanted was complete, I could now control the plug from my phone, very impressed. Next was to get the plug working with Alexa, because after all if you have an Amazon Echo, you may as well integrate everything with it. Once again it was simple it was a case of looking for the skill via the Alexa app and once logged into my Meross account, Alexa successfully found the smart plug and was ready to go. Now all I have to say when the weather is warm and I am feeling lazy is "Alexa, turn on the fan" and the fan(plugged into the smart plug) turns on. Now I need to decide what I want to control with the other plug. I think one of the best features of the plug is the fact you can name each one so in my case it is named fan for the simple reason that, that is what is plugged into it. It is definitely a product I will be buying again in the future when I need some more as my end goal when I have my own place is to have a completely smart house that can be controlled with my voice.

Remote socket control
This was just what I needed. Sometimes we switch on the dehumidifier to dry clothes when we leave in the morning and it can stay on all day until we return in the evening. With this we can control the socket throughout the day saving on electric bills. Will also be useful to set a schedule for a lamp when away on holiday. Very easy to setup and worth it!

If you use Sky WiFi..read on
This product sounded OK when reading the reviews etc, a different story when I received it. Neither plug would connect to my Sky WiFi. I tried connecting using the Meross app and the eFamily app. (the later being more user friendly) Spoke to the customer help line who quoted the instruction leaflet and were of no help. I was told that I was no doubt using the wrong WiFi password!! I think not! I am disappointed as these plugs were good quality and well made. Back to the drawing board!

Uses a different app, to the bulbs and my other sockets.
I was a little disappointed, as it runs on a different app to my others. Now need to connect to WiFi, which makes it a bit more time consuming. I wanted to be able to just add to my current app!

Firmware update needed but perfect since
Initially had problems connecting to my sky wifi (similar to mentioned in another review). Their support team contacted me after noticing multiple failures to connect via the app and talked me through how to do a firmware upgrade on the devices. It was actually very easy to do, I just hadn’t thought of it. As soon as that was completed they connected straight away very easily. I now have both connected to my amazon echo and working perfectly with voice commands. Thanks very much.
