Layer 8 Men's Short Quickdry Athletic 10 Inch Inseam Extra Mile Short with Two Side Pockets

I spent a lot of time looking at thousands of shorts on Amazon, and these looked the best to me. I received my shorts in the mail several days ago, and I still think that they might be the best shorts on Amazon for me.I like the length of the shorts, which are 9.75". A lot of people complained that the shorts aren't 10". Well 1/4 of an inch doesn't really make a difference, and I can't see any seller writing 9.75" inseam in their description. If you were to pull on the fabric a little, it would stretch to 10". Of course, I don't think that pulling the fabirc counts. If the inseam was 9.5", then I think they should advertise the shorts as 9.5". But seeing how they are 9.75", it is acceptable to round it up and just say 10".I like the fit of the shorts. I wear size 34 jeans that are too loose on me and require me to make my belt tight. I ordered size Medium shorts and they fit perfectly. The elastic band is really nice. In fact everything about the shorts spells "quality".I love the pockets. They are so deep and comfy.I wasn't crazy about the material at first. I had some Nike shorts that were 96% polyester and 4% spandex that were very thick, heavier, and rougher feeling. I was hoping for something like that. These shorts are very smooth material, like touching trouser dress pants or silk. And it feels like wearing one or two pairs of boxers over your existing pair. They also arrived wrinkly and I will need to wash them and dry them to get the wrinkles out. But the shorts being thin doesn't make them feel cheap in any way or like they will fall apart. And it doesn't feel like I'm wearing air or that I am naked.My biggest complaint is the color. It's just not as pleasing as I'd like the color to be. I am not at all fond about the color black. And even though I wanted dark gray shorts, these shorts are just a tiny bit darker gray than I wanted. The too dark gray combined with the black heather pattern makes these feel like black shorts with gray in them. Or like wearing zebra shorts but they replaced the white with dark gray. I have a favorite gray dry fit t-shirt that I want to wear with these shorts. But it doesn't look good with what feels like almost black shorts, a color that I really can't stand. I do have darker gray shirts but then my entire outfit would be too dark gray, and I don't want that.I spent decades of my life just wearing boxers around the house. And then I'd have shorts hanging near my front door in case someone knocks. The color and color pattern of these shorts bothers me so much, that I hate looking at them. Since they are hanging near my front door, I have to look at them 16 hours a day. So my compromise is to just wear the shorts all day instead. Since they feel like only wearing one or two other pairs of boxers over my existing ones, wearing them doesn't bother me too much. And that would mean that I spend less time getting dressed when someone knocks on my door. But the number of times people knock on my door is like twice a year, so it doesn't really make sense to wear shorts all day everyday if I don't need to.I'm not sure how the color could be improved. If you removed the black heather pattern, that would be a start. And lighten the dark gray just a tad bit. But I still don't think that would be enough. It needs a delectable pattern of some sort on the front. There is orange on the sides of the pair that I bought. I bought the orange shorts because I want to wear my brown hat with my gray shirt and shorts. The problem is, you can only see the orange from the side. If you stand in front of the mirror, all you see is the boring gray. Maybe if there were subtle orange decals or patterns in the front, the shorts would look better. I think that this is where the fabric would make a difference. If the fabric was coarser and rougher and therefore tactile, then just removing the black and lightening the gray would be enough. But since the material is smooth like my shirts, there is nothing to set the shirt and shorts apart.I recommend these shorts for other people. I'm sure they would be 100% satisfied with them and give them five stars. But I'm not at all crazy about the color. I shouldn't have to wear shorts 16 hours a day, 365 days a year just because I don't want to look at them. And even though the fabric is okay, a rougher tactile feel and a different thicker fabric would have been nice. I was thinking about keeping them, but in the end I couldn't justify it. I knew I would be much happier if I just stuck with the shorts that I already have. The shorts that I have are those aforementioned blue Nike shorts that are 96% polyester and 4% spandex. They are size Medium, but fit like XXXXXXL size shorts. I use them to cover the bottom part of my office chair because my boxers don't cover all of my thighs and the fabric of the seat cushion is too uncomfortable on my skin. Yet, I'd rather use these old blue shorts than these new gray shorts that I think are awesome but are just too dark gray and too smooth fabric. I was thinking about keeping these new shorts, looking for a replacement, and then selling them on eBay. But that would be too much trouble and I'd rather go without shorts than keep them. I really wish that I wasn't disabled, that I had a car, and that there wasn't a Covid-19 outbreak. Then I could just go out and find me some good shorts.I'll give these shorts a four star rating, based on personal preferences. But in the end I had to return them because they weren't for me.UPDATE: I found a pair of shorts that I like. C9 Champion Mesh Shorts.

I especially bought these shorts due to the inseam length. It's NOT 10,5 inches and trust me I'm good at measuring correctly since I sow a lot. Have to return, thanks for wasting costumers time :-(

These are great looking, comfortable shorts, but just keep in mind that they will shrink a little. I would suggest buying one pair of your size, and one pair of a size up from that, just to see what fits better after multiple washes. If you can't do that, I would suggest just buying one size up, as you can easily tighten them, and they still won't look baggy at all. Solid product.

I thought these would be long but perhaps the cut I received was off. I measured the inseam and it was 9 1/4". So, either someone made a mistake or the description is wrong stating it is 10.5". Item was returned.

The pockets are great. Length is good. Fabric is durable, easily washed, and lightweight enough for Florida in the summer months. A real winner.

They fit well and are made of durable fabric that has remained nice after many washings but they are somewhat thin and tend to cling to my legs.

These shorts are fantastic and not just for the price. I purchased them back in 2017, and they've been my favorite ever since. I never expected it, but I like them better than my UA and Nike shorts. They are softer and overall more comfortable. Whenever these are dirty, I lament putting on any others. True story. Very durable, been through the wash at least weekly and besides some splitting on the screen-printed logo, they look as good as the day I got 'em. I am 5'9" and these go to the very bottom of my knees. I usually roll them up at the waist one time for my perfect length.
