LDC-SET4/MT2 4PCS Woodturning Lathe Live and Drive Center Set MT2 Taper

This wood burner was bought for a Christmas present for our daughter to continue making burned wood crafts. The quality was excellent and for the price, it was a great deal to get the burner, tons of tips, stencils, and a case. Highly recommend!

This is a very nice set of centers for spindle turning. The spur center and the ball bearing live center will satisfy the majority of my needs for spindle turning. The #2 MT fits securely in both my headstock and tailstock, and doesn't spin after extended use, yet they remove easily with a moderate tap with my knockout bar. They run true and are vibration free. They seem to be well machined to fine tolerances. For the price, they are a good bargain. They come shipped on a very heavy, foam-lined cardboard box, just like the box my expensive cell phone was packed in.

After unpacking and spinning up with the steb center (not driving wood yet) I noticed a bit too much vibration with the drive center on the lathe. I put a dial indicator on a couple of the drive centers in this set and they all show about 0.005" out. I suspect that the threads on the drive cone are to blame. I couldn't find a way to contact the seller to see what they have to say, maybe I just got a bad one.

I recently purchased a new lathe and needed some accessories. These are better centers than what came with the lathe so these will be used to replace the cheap drive and live centers that came with the lathe. These centers are well built and I am very happy with them.

These centers arrive in a nice box (in case you want to gift them, I suppose). I was impressed by the quality of the machining. The head on the spur is a bit smaller than the one that came with my Jet lathe and better made. Both centers are Mt2. I'm looking forward to turning something with them tomorrow.

These are VERY well made and machined lathe tools. Extremely happy with these. I got a chuckle about the claim of the good storage box, but, in truth, it's a sturdy little box that will hold up well in the shop for storage. I work a lot on a wood lathe, and a South Bend, and I can't imagine any turner not happy with these. At 33 dollars these are a great value. You really can't go wrong here.

I ordered these for my Excelsior Lathe. They appear precisely machined and spin true on my lathe. I have a garage full of woodworking machinery but have never turned before. This will be a good start for me to begin turning with.They are protected in a foam insert that is inside a very sturdy box. It would be a shame if they were damaged and couldn't be used.
