So far so good! This piece is engineered specifically for the GoPro Hero Black models 12, 11, 10 & 9 only. The sunshade fits perfectly, and looks good as well, and is easily removed or installed. It is currently rainy so I have not had a chance to try it out while on the water, but I have no doubt that it will work as advertised since the white color will reflect the sunlight and prevent the camera from over heating and shutting off. One thing I will add is that it is not compatible with the Max Lens Mod, but that’s not a deal breaker for me.

When the temps rise above 80 degrees here in CA, my GoPro Hero 12 will inevitably overheat and I'll hear that dreaded beep that it's shutting off.  I've seen other YouTubers paint their GoPros white, but I've always been hesitant to do any potential damage to the camera.This sun shade snapped onto my GoPro easily!  It's a snug fit, so the camera won't rattle inside of it.  The white color will reflect the light, instead of absorbing it, so my camera will stay cool, and most importantly, ON.I mount my Go Pro on the Yolotek PowerStick so I'll get a full, uninterrupted day's worth of footage on the boat.  This product was a great idea!

GoPro cameras are all I use to capture my fishing adventures. In the heat of the day the YOLOtek sunshade will mitigate the risks of the common overheating problem these cameras have while in the beating sun on the water. Fitment is excellent and works great!

I have just received and used my new Sun Shade on my Go Pro 9 which I use to video Bass Tournament Weigh Ins for my website. This weekend I was able to record almost 2 hours of continuous recording using the Sun Shade on my Go Pro attached to the YoloTek Juice Box in full sun. Previously this would have been quite a challenge without overheating the Go Pro. The Sun Shade fits very securely and does not impede access to the buttons, mount, USB connector or lense. Actually the overhang on the viewing screen helps quite a bit as well to minimize glare on the screen in full sunlight. This was a solid test as I did not remove the internal battery nor did I decrease my image quality on the Go Pro as required before. The Sun Shade-Juicebox combo is a must have for lengthy video recordings using a Go Pro.
