Cold Blood: Nick Stone, Book 18

Brilliant ? Are you having a laugh?
I have long thought the Nick Stone series was running out of steam but persevered out of habit more than anything else. This was the final straw for me. This book is dull , slow, does not grip you. . Just plain boring to be brutally honest. Nothing happens until the final third and even then it seems a bit stilted and confusing with a few contradictions (the helicopter scene being a case in point where on one page there are 4 people getting off it but a couple of pages later it becomes 5) . How anyone can call this brilliant beggars belief and makes me wonder about the veracity of some reviewers.Think Andy should stick to non fiction now as the NS books are finished and the Tom Buckingham books were quite disappointing..

Worst Stone book by far
I’ve read all the Nick Stone books and while they vary in quality, I’ve found all of them entertaining, sometimes very much so. Until now. This instalment - which is very different in style to any of the others, as if it’s been written by someone else - is plain awful. Barely anything happens: it’s just so dull. There’s no obvious motivation for what any of the characters does, including Stone, but the real problem is just that none of them really does much at all. The ending suggests some of the characters introduced here will be revisited. If so, it will be time for me to bow out as a reader. Awful.

60 pages of boredom.
I love all mcnabs nick stone books. Except this one. I read the first 60 pages and got truly bored. Honestly, I cannot be arsed to read another word. But gutted really as was looking forward to this book.

Bore Bore
Echoing so many others comments I'm a big fan of the Nick Stone series. Of late it has been getting a big long in the tooth and this latest installment just solidifies that fact. Its just boring and nothing really happens. Spoiler ahead! Why on earth he would blow his entire fortune he's accumulated over the years to get a bunch of folk to the pole he doesn't know, and the apparent justification never really materializes. Its not really one star, read Chris Ryan's guff if you want one star reviews, but I think McNab needs to give it a rest with Nick Stone.

Disappointing
Having read all of Andy McNab`s books I feel that unfortunately this has been the most disappointing. Hopefully it's just a glitch and he will be back on form in the future. Generally speaking it does not take too long for me to read Nicks adventures as the stories normally flow with interest and excitement however Cold Blood was a difficult read and a poor ending.

Does what you expect!
If you like the nick stone series (which I do) it is more of the same. I we are honest then these books aren’t (not are they meant to be) literary masterpieces - but we like them for what they are..... a holiday page turner that feels familiar (you tend to see a similar vein run through a number of AMcN books) and not to taxing on the brain sells. For me this is perfect for my annual holiday read and I buy the new one eatery year! If like me this is your thing then you can’t go wrong with the latest instalment.

Excellent stand alone read or as part of series
Great book, post the drama of the last, was difficult to see how could move forward with the series but did so here in a very clever way.Celebrating servicemen whom have been disabled in line of duty mentally and physically - showing they are still whole people, even if they have lost (literally) parts of themselves.Recommend

Not great
Had fallen behind on these having found a new series but I don't know what happened. This book was thin on story and i was unsure which direction it was going in. Jumped around but no thread or story as such. Disappointed but bought another one so hoping it gets back to basics
