Definitely helps protect your usb ports on camera for damage you still have to. Be careful it’s how you treat your equiptment I definitely but make sure you get cable block or system will not. Be secure enough to keep cable coming out and possible damage to port hope it helps

I've been using TetherTools TetherBlocks for about 2o years and they go on all my stills cameras. This on has a LeverLock for the USB cable going from the camera to the laptop and ...it's the best ever. Now that I have this locking one, ...I'm tethering more than I ever have. Get one and you will be shooting tethered like you know you should be doing. And if you never have tethered to a laptop, get one of these. There is no better on and even this one has been improved with the locking lever that's easy to unhook your cable. You'll find yourself tethering more than you ever did before. ..so easy on and off!

This is a really nice, solid, well made and useful adaptation of the Arca Swiss standard and I really like it's quality, but it is JUST TOO EXPENSIVE, I've seen similar quality at less than a quarter the price and with my 3d printer I imagine I could create an clone that works as well and is MUCH cheaper

I shoot tethered quite often and have had issues with the cable coming loose - even with a cable clamp. This gadget takes care of keeping the cable secure. Deducted a star due to price. No way should this be over $40 for what it is.

I purchased The tether lock about a week ago and I’m very happy with this purchase. It’s a bit pricey I’ll have to admit but with this plate I Can secure my tethering cable without having to screw in and out the whole plate every time. It’s very practical and I love it so far. Construction is all metal, including the orange latch. The only downside I found was that the archer Swiss mount section does not cover the whole length of the plate. It could be a little short for some tripod heads. But so far I haven’t had a problem with it. I recommend this product.

The media could not be loaded. Arca mounts tend to be very secure and stable - and they are typically associated with a quick release system. What could be better? Perhaps one that also manages and cleans up the wires and cables...The good: It does what is says. The available wiring channel will accommodate a good sized cable. It is an element of this class of mounting solutions.Bottom line: You won't be thinking about it while using it. And that's good, because not thinking about it means its doing its job so you can do yours.

Tethertools USB-C cable is quite a thick one and although it fits the clip pinches it quite badly. Even only after two uses the pinch marks are really visible and it might damage the cable. For thinner cables it works great.
