The rain coat is water resistant and seems of good quality. When I got it, I put it on my German Shepherd and it seemed to fit just fine. She walked around the house and all seemed fine. When it was just sprinkling, we tested it out and the hood kept sliding off the head, the coat didn't stretch as well for the leash part. My pet seemed uncomfortable and couldn't wait to take it off. I had to keep adjusting it on the walk which was a hassle. I measured my dog and the 2x seemed the best fit but I guess I need to find a coat for an extra large breed. If you don't have a long dog with such a large girth then I would recommend this rain coat.

I have a 90 lb golden with huge block head. XXL fits perfectly. He is a “roller”, so it’s good for both rain and rolling in wet grass. Every two years I buy a new one, as he is hard on it. Mud eventually stains such that it can never be the old color.

This was so cute on my dog. Once I got it on her and she got used to it she was still able to run around and play a little bit. She probably would have played more but I didn't want her to ruin it! 🙃 That being said the material seems really durable. But we've only had to use it a couple times while camping.It's really hard to find the right size for a pitbull. This was the closest and proportion to my dog's size. The hood wouldn't stay up but I've never found one that does. I think it's more for aesthetics than it is for usefulness. And it sure does look cute.I wish they'd find a better way to secure the back legs. The stretchy string like material is the same that's used on all these types of raincoats. But for my dog it kept sliding into her lady parts like a g-string. I'm sure that couldn't have been comfortable.I ordered an extra large because her chest measured 33 in which is in between sizes on the chart so I went up instead of down. Unfortunately that was a mistake because it hung below her chest making it harder for the raincoat to be secured to her. That's my fault though. Like I said it's hard to size for a pit bull because they're proportions are a lot different than most dogs. I wish they would give you a lot more freedom in adjusting these raincoats around the neck and chest.Bottom line she looks cute and it worked as far as keeping the rain off.

I like the coat alot. It has thin elastic loops near base for dogs hind legs, which keeps the coat in place along his back. The hood and neck are almost too snug. Hood has a draw string which is useless and in the way d/t it not having any slack in that area. Almost had to return item for neck issue. But could slip cpl fingers under seam so figured, like a collar, it would be ok. Other than that, it was a great buy.

Although the XL is his correct size, it slid sideways as he walked and hung completely over to his side. The chest band had very limited options to where it Velcros, and he has a narrow chest. The correct spot to attach for him had no corresponding strip. I did what I thought I needed to, and exchanged it for a large.After taking photos for this review (shown in size large) I’m certain that the Large is also a terrible fit. I was going to make do since it fits his his chest and doesn’t slide, but it barely fits his head, and does not reach the end of his body. The fact that I use a gentle leader is the only way I was able to get a leash on him. The hole for a standard leash is now too far back.I’m sure for most dog types this will work, but it just isn’t doing us any favors. Don’t you hate when you’re in between sizes?

As other reviews have stated, the strap that goes around my dog’s undercarriage is way too long and there isn’t enough Velcro to be able to adjust it to fit. I like how the coat covers most of her body and unlike some others I tried on her, the hood doesn’t cover her eyes. But I’m going to have to find a way to modify the strap in order to keep it on her!

If you have a giant breed you know how hard it is to find a rain coat that actually covers them. Henry my Great Pyrenees mix hates going out in the rain so I needed a rain coat that covered as much of his body as possible. He is 38 inches around the chest and 33 inches from neck to base of tail. The XXXL in this rain coat fits him perfectly, with plenty of room in the chest and extends several inches past his tail as well. The teal color looks very nice on him as well (my pictures don't show the true color accurately, it is definitely closer to the color shown on Amazon). We haven't had a chance to try it out in the rain yet but I'm sure it will work perfectly for our needs.

I like the raincoat--I have a standard poodle that I show in obedience, and inevitably there is a rainy dog show weekend several times a year. Even though he isn't in the elaborate "show coat" you see on TV, his hair collects water rather than let it run off.I like that this raincoat isn't flimsy and is simple to slide on over his head. I'm not sure I'll use the leash opening, since we don't go for long walks in the rain--just outdoors to potty, which takes him long enough to get pretty wet. I'm also not sure I'll use the leg elastics for the same reason.I have only two issues with the construction--the hood doesn't cover his topknot (poodles have rather long necks), and the belly strap is way, way too long. You'd have to have a severely obese dog for that belly strap to fit right. I've doubled it up with a safety pin until I can get it somewhere with a heaving sewing machine to have it shortened.But still, I think it's good value for the money.

So on the good side #1 My dog looked amazing in it, #2 waterproof perfect for raining day,Why 2 stars? We used it 3 times, on the third one the stitches around the leash opening on the back of the hood broke open, and well there is no easy fix for that (shouldn't have tore open)

Works well for those rainy days.
