Great tool for quilting
This is great when you are using dark fabric! Just mark what you need then wipe it off with a damp sponge.

Chalk pencils
I used this at my daughter's and liked it because of the fine line it made. Since it is for sewing I don't need a heavy line.

Fantastic product
Wow, these white pencils are fantastic.i would give them 10 stars if that was an option. The line is small and very clear. I like that the pencils are very easy to use, I am so glad that I bought them.

MY FAVORITE!
I love this chalk marker. Produces a very fine line without needing much pressure. Dusts off easily when complete. I have used the white and occasionally the pink chalk. My complaint: Chalk refills are too expensive -- almost the same price as a new pen with a refill. Also, treat them with care as the chalk can break easily. Still my favorite chalk marker.

Better than pencils, but a bit hard, a bit brittle
I purchased this - along with some black chalk refills - after working with an old white marking pencil for many years. The pencil was annoying to use - it was very hard and left marks after the fact. These are better - much better at making fine lines - and easier to handle as well. If you are working with dense fabrics and need the extra detail, they are well-suited for that purpose. For me, though, I think they are a bit too hard. I am working with linen and corduroy and I still have to go over the lines a couple times to make them visible, it's a balancing act between going too soft to be seen and so hard the chalk breaks. I've worked out the technique, I think, but I'd prefer if it were maybe a bit larger diameter chalk and a bit softer. That might just mean I need a different kind of chalk pencil, or maybe those triangular tailor chalks instead of these. So far as I can tell, the chalk comes right out if you rub it, but if you are even a little careful it stays put. Only once have I had a line become too faded to see while I was still working. No complaints there. So I suppose I'd recommend for denser materials, even if it doesn't work for me.

Works well
Nice fabric markers. The chalks are very thin so some care it needed to not break them while using them or when installing a refill chalk. However, the thin diameter also makes possible thin lines without needing to sharpen the chalk as is needed with larger diameter chalk or soapstone markers. The white works well on many fabrics, I also ordered the yellow chalk refills for use on fabrics where the white chalk doesn't show up well.

Marking Pencil for dark wood -- woodworking
I find this to be a very good choice for use when marking dark wood. I know that it is for marking material, but it works very good for dark wood.
