Well, who knows?
I find books about the Krays endlessly fascinating if only because each author cannot possibly get at the whole truth. All the people being interviewed have things they also want to keep secret or put a personal slant on. The Kray twins are unique in being perhaps the only pair of identical twin villains who managed to get such a high profile combining celebrity status with charity work while murdering and robbing others. The book 'written' by themselves portrays them as 'diamond geezers' put down by the police taking 'diabolical liberties', This book is one of the best I think but I have no way of knowing if my impression is correct. I imagine that books will be written about the twins long after the current authors who actually knew them have departed for the bookshop in the sky.

Doing the business
As with all gangster books you don't quite know what's fact and fiction! Definitely some interesting stories and goings on.... but, I get the impression that the twins didn't think Charlie had the tools to go with them up the ladder - he was the older brother too....an entertaining read though.

enjoyable old ground
Goes over old stuff but the added dimension of the focus on charlie boy brought new depth to the stories. Sad end for the one that wasn't evil- just easily led.
