Our daughter has gradually turned into a history fanatic. And she prefers books about female historic characters, so this book about Queen Victoria is great.Like all the Usborne famous character books, this one is written well and touches upon the main events in the queen’s life in a concise but very clear manner. We have some books and material about the Victorian age, but this is a good introduction to the topic and the period.I quite enjoy to use these Usborne books for guided reading. The chapters are well proportioned for a single reading session and the content generally triggers a little debate. And also for grown up readers it is an interesting summary to brush up on the main historic facts about a certain person or age.As always, this Usborne book is very well presented. It comes hard-bound with red a page finder string. The books are colourful and very well illustrated, with pictures and illustrations. The broad and varied choice of topics and historic characters in this series should also be praised.

Excellent book for youngsters with an interest in Queen Victoria. Written very well and can be read aloud to younger children as well. It is very difficult to find good books for youngsters on this subject (I even tried the shop at Osborne House) and this is certainly the best I have come across.

I bought the book about Queen Victoria for my daughter whose school topic this term is Victorians. This addition has colour illustrations through out,combines a good factual biography with easy to read text.This book is a useful insight into Victoria's life from her lonely difficult childhood, her love of Prince Albert and how she shaped and changed the British MonarchyWould recommend this addition for any family bookshelf !

The perfect level for my y4 daughter to read for her ‘royals’ project with not too much help needed by way of explanation.

I have purchased this for my 8 year old grandson who is doing the history of Victoria in school. Item not read by me contents are very good, grandson happy with it.
