It was for my granddaughters birthday,she loved it.

The media could not be loaded. Fitting the three light bars onto the main stand which already had one bar installed was not easy. The bars slot in but are extremely tight largely due to pips of plastic remaining on the bars preventing them from easily slotting down to connect. So I had to use some fine glass paper to remove the pips and then managed to get all the bars successfully fitted ensuring that they fully home so that the electrical connections were in contact. The base is not particularly wide, so it maybe a little unstable on thick pile carpet as I found.I plugged in the power adapter and switched on. Unfortunately initially I was only able to get the first bar to light up using the on/off switch located on the base of the unit. I then uninstalled the bars and switched the second and third bars around and tried again. This time the first two bars lit up but not the top two. I then took the third bar away so only three bars were connected and all three bars lit up. So it seems that one bar was faulty despite trying it several times to ensure that the electrical connectors were properly in contact.With three bars working it was possible to change the colour pattern with the bottom button on the base of the unit, and also control the lights once it had been linked to the Smart Life App which then automatically linked it to my Alexa Echo Dot App. Additionally the base has a third middle button which selects music mode which causes the colours to change when music is played but the source needs to be very close to the light. Alternatively music can be played through the device where the apps are located and music selected from the Smart Life and it will automatically change colours.Overall though this did not work as it should but if it had I believe it would have looked quite nice and added ambience to a room or for a party as it will change colours when music is played through the device where the App is installed. If it had been fully functioning then I would think it would be in the average price bracket for this type of item, but not in this case.

If you are looking for a very simple way to add an RGB light to a room, this will work.It was very simple to put together and took very little time. It isn't the best quality but it looks quite nice and is sturdy enough to just sit in the corner of a room and look nice. You can control it with the app which works well and gives you a lot of customisation and allows you to connect Alexa etc.The LED strip seems to be a standard cheap WS281X strip so you could easily connect your own controller and use something like WLED if you wanted even more customisation. The LED strip isn't the best quality but they are bright and vibrant. Overall, this is a nice RGB strip.

When this arrived, it was in a small box. It comes in four sections for the light and the base these need to be clipped together to find a circuit I had to swap some of the sections about to make the light work once it works it is really good. It’s not very stable but I’m gonna put it in a car so won’t really matter an app and you can work it with Alexa so Alexa changes the colour the colours are blue red green yellow and various other colours and you can have them lighter but darker This is a nice thing for the corner of the kids room are even any room. I’m really happy with this.

First challenge - putting the tubes together. The plastic was slightly too big to push into the metal grooves, so needed to be pushed in a few times before they actually went all the way down (and after the edges of plastic were shaved off a bit). Then you realise that if you use all the tubes, it is way too top heavy for the light and small base - especially on carpet. Set up easily in the app. They suggest Smart Life but also works with Tuya (basically the same). Immediately added to my linked Alexa account. App is simple, responsive and effective. Effects are quite impressive - in particular the music modes. For £39.99 (time of review) I’d expect slight better build quality, but perhaps they put their design efforts into the quality of LEDs. Have had so many different led lights, which fail after a year - but hopefully this one lasts.

The choice of colours is almost limitless, although the lack of a dedicated white on the strip does let it down somewhat as it does not match any of my other RGBW lights that can do actual white, both warm and cool.
