RIANPOINT WiFi Hub 009 for Model 102B Hose Timer

So far it's helped me make sure my potted Asian pear tree doesn't die. I'm actually getting fruit this year and it hasn't fallen off prematurely.

Overall, when it works. It's great, but it disconnect from the wifi and I had to reconnect it a number or times.

I like the 102b timer from Rainpoint that this hub is designed to be used with. Since the largest downside of these timers is their range, which is limited by Bluetooth, this hub seemed like a silver bullet. Unfortunately, the hub also connects to the timers by Bluetooth, so they basically need to have line of sight. Since the hub is not waterproof, this is not great.My hub is about 20 feet away from 2 timers, and 40 feet away from another. The 40ft shows as perpetually disconnected. The 20ft display as connected, but in reality only work part of the time. They will show as currently watering when they are not, will not respond to manual watering controls, and so on. On the bright side, you can still walk over and connect directly with Bluetooth. But that defeats the purpose.I haven't decided if I'm going to return this or put it in a watertight box outside.
