Delight
Im a gardener and I find this book endlessly delightful to browse thru. It's a fine collection of Van Goghs paintings of nature and a taste of hot southern sun and air and earth. Great condition book, arrived on time, thanks.

The Influence of Gardens on Van Gogh
This book provides a refreshing insight into the role of gardens in the artist's troubled career. It makes a refreshing change to have the genius's troubled mind offset by the cool and soothing influences of gardens and plants, about which I hitherto knew nothing, explained in a clear and concise way. Although it makes no pretence of being a definitive or academic text it is a well written essay that is structured geographically rather than chronologically. There are a large number of excellent full colour illustrations for the reader to engage with, accompanied by detailed explanations out with the general body of the text. The book is well bound, attractively presented and, in my opinion, is a must for those interested in the artist or in the influence of gardens and plants on art and artists.

Fascinating, engrossing read
I'm a fan of both gardens and art so I found 'Vincent's Gardens' an inspiring read.It was full of drawings and paintings I'd never seen before as well as insightful observations from the author on Vincent's unique artistic achievements.Beautifully reproduced images too - I highly recommend it!
