Fairies Colouring Book: Charming Pictures of the Sprites from Folklore Paperback – Illustrated, 1 Aug. 2013

With over 60 pages of charming pictures to colour in, of fairies, sprites, many wonderful flowers, fruit and nuts, this gorgeous book is superb value for money.I chose it for my nine year old granddaughter, but soon found myself 'helping' by carefully filling in some of the picture... I used gel pens but pencils, water colour etc would all work well. There is something hypnotic and relaxing about working away at the really lovely pictures. With some music playing, a quiet time becomes a valuable chance to calm down and think about nothing but how pretty you can make the page.The quality of the paper allows for building up layers of colour, pressing quite hard. Maybe insert a protective piece of paper between the pages when you working to ensure completely unmarked following pages, when working with pens.The lines are clear enough to follow but soft enough to disappear once the colour is applied. Each picture tells a story which is pleasing to imagine. At the beginning of the book there is a helpful Introduction to the methods you can use with some useful tips about effects you can create with layers of colour. I think this teaches how to enjoy painting and penmanship. Being careful to stay within the lines and using the pens to make a texture builds confidence and may well lead to more individual creativity.

Really didn't like this book at all.I found the images bland & boring & there seemed to be something wrong with some of the faces.

I have not painted ant mas yet I am waiting for paints & brushes but it looks very nice and easy to colour I also bought 2 other colouring books but yhry look a lot harder to do but I will let u know how I get on I love r=trying new hobbies so am looking forward to doing this regards metzarina my user name

This was promptly delivered and good as new. I was a little nervous buying second hand. This book is packed with quality illustrations printed on one side only which is always good. The paper is nice quality too. A really good buy.

Again I really liked this book but the paper could have been a heavier gauge - pens bleed through.

ordered for my daughter and the drawings have been great and only on one side of the paper so the colour does not run through.
