New Balance Men's 520 V5 Running Shoe

These are wonderful !!! Love the color gray, it goes with black slacks or jeans. I have wide feet and a high instep for a woman. I ordered 2 pair of these shoes in gray (10 4E & 10.5 4E) unsure if they would fit at all because I struggle terribly after surgeries on both. The 10.5 4E fit me perfect and I urged my husband to try the 10 4E. We both LOVE THEM !!! My husband (70) could not get over how comfortable they were (and he is very picky). I was SHOCKED to say the least that the arch is wonderful and actually built into the soul itself with very good support. The insole is cushioned a little but flat. So glad I did not need to keep looking for an insole this time. They do breathe, we had the heat on in the car and I could feel the air coming in them on top yet they are light weight. I am serious -- these shoes gave me a complete new life at 68!! I also have Parkinsons disease and can finally WALK and get some exercise. THANK YOU so much....I may order another pair in a different color.

Very comfortable. Great Support. Nice and light weight. Great for running, jogging or even just walking around.

I received my New Balance Men's 520v5 between 1 and 2 months ago. When I first received the shoe, I was extremely disappointed. The shoe looked nice and fit comfortably around the lower portion of my foot, even more so than other New Balance sneakers I have owned. However, something hard on the bottom tab painfully rubbed against the top of my foot, with the friction and movement as I walked. The thing on the bottom of the tab had consistency similar to a shoelace end. It was present on both outer sides of each tab, but was worst on the left side of the left tab. The top of my feet would get red scratches from the tab edge rubbing against them, even when wearing thick socks. I tried wearing band-aids on my feet to protect against the tab edge, which helped, but the band-aids would eventually come off with the friction. At the time, running or hiking with the shoes was impossible. I could only go on short walks, so long as I had protection against the tab edge.I considered returning the shoe, but decided I'd give it more time, to see how the tab issue changed over time. The tab friction decreased with each week, and the shoelace end like thing outer tabs became smaller and smoother. After a little over a month, the tab friction was barely noticeable when wearing thick socks. A short time later, I tried running and hiking in the shoes, both of which were successful. Now that I've owned the shoes for nearly 2 months, I no longer require thick socks. The shoes are comfortable under all conditions, so I wear them nearly each day.After having broken them in, I prefer the 520v5 to older New Balance 632s and 608s I have owned. Aside from the tab issue, I find the shoes more comfortable than other NB, with the softer mesh siding and more comfortable cushioning at the bottom. The mesh doesn't look sturdy, but it shows no signs of failing. After nearly 2 months of wearing the sneaker and going on many runs/hikes, the shoes are still in great condition with no visible signs of damage. I'll update this review, if this changes.

This shoe is very lightweight and comfortable. I have 2 pairs of sneakers and this is the one I always choose to bike in. It feels like there is no extra weight on my feet. By this logic I would assume it is also a great running shoe, but I don’t really run so I don’t know. Also if it is colder outside you should wear warm socks with these since the mesh fabric is not very insulating.

These shoes are great, I initially bought them to use for training, but started wearing them all the time. I can walk all day in these shoes as they are very comfortable.

Perfect for me as I wear a size 16 wide shoe. Not too big to where it may slip off my foot, and very comfortable. Durable and great design.I was not able to review it for working out as the time I purchased them, I happened to have an ankle issue and wasn’t really able to test it for working out, but if this shoe is like other New Balance shoes I have used in the past, then it is perfect for athletic individuals.

Perfect fit! I am a size 14 but when i comes to new balance i always buy extra wide. NBs are usually narrow in the toes so if you're looking for the perfect fit try and go a wide or extra wide but keep the same size! If this particular shoe just isnt right for you please for the love of Christmas use the following to search for shoe sizes 2E or 4E to indicate width! 2E= wide and 4E = extra wide!
