Enjoyed the book - loved the concept
Kian - a 2,000-year-old descendant of a line of gods.Syssi - a paranormal perceptive, who might be a dormant and therefore able to breed with those descendands and carry on the line.A refreshing take on aliens, other species, human myths and lore and how it all intermingles.I mostly enjoyed this book and I loved the concept. The author has obviously got copious knowledge and interest in various fields, which she works conceptually into her book.Downside? There is too much telling and little showing.Having said that, though: the story makes more than up for it.Will definitely reading more of this author. It's not JR Ward, but it's a world in its own right, with its own creatures and rules. Don't be fooled - aliens are no vampires.

A decent read
Good storyline. Great characters with plenty of scope to expand.Liked the camaraderie and in family banter.Really liked the fact they didn't end up straight in the sack at page 40, as many books seem to do but explored the budding albeit reluctant, relationship first until both came to the same conclusion that they needed each other but for more than just sex.I'll be getting the next book to see how the story continues.

Love paranormal romance?
Iâm always on the look out for good new writers to follow, and this could have been a good story as the âbonesâ of it showed loads of promise. What ruined it for me was, the writer introduced too many characters far too soon in the story, not only that but she went on and on in extreme detail describing how beautiful they all were to the point that, she âdrowned outâ most of the story with it and it just becameâŠ. well, boring. I absolutely hate it when the writer âpads outâ the story so much that you end up skimming to find the plot to the story thatâs worth reading, and thatâs what I ended up doing with most of this book. Usually writers that do this drone on in incredible detail about the clothes that the character is wearing i.e. the designer and the type of fabric, colour, hue, print etc. or the wall paper, chintz fabric, colours and design and type of furniture. Itâs all padding and yes, you need to âset the stageâ but not for pages after pages that, by 60% in, you think oh, finally the actual start of the story, only to find that, nope, more boring padding. That amount information/description just makes it become more paraphernalia than actual necessary to the storyline plot and should have been cut out and just dotted in now and again to give the read a idea of representation for their imagination to depict, not chapter after chapter of what amounts to, loads of characters with âfabulous shiny manes and amazing lustrous skin and what they like to wearâ. Itâs not necessary at that point, that kind of info should be injected in when they are pulled heavily into the plot. Itâs just too much; you just end up skimming lines or nodding off. I get the impression from reading the synopsis on the continuing sagas in this series that it pretty much carries on in the same vane, which is a pity, as Iâd have bought the next book in the hopes that the writer has improved her style.

Dark stranger the dream
Nice easy beginning, introducing some of the characters and a little bit of history about them, then drops a few surprises about dormers and the story gets more exciting and complicated. Looking forward to reading the next book in theseries

A good writer who has sold out
Such a disappointment. This 5th of a book has done me a favour. I will not buy 99p fiction again. What used to be a platform for new writers to get their work out there has turned into a sell out of damaged masterpieces. I used to love buying paperbacks for ÂŁ8 - ÂŁ10 and did not think that it was too expensive. I will be going back to this. Padding out you creations with unnecessary, romanticized, repeated blurb is boring. And any reader who tells you different is not a reader. We all like steamy sex scenes but not when they r constantly damaging the flow of the book. I feel like I have just purchased the equivalent of a prostitute instead of getting a boyfriend. Please don't even get me started on the 'part works for profit' and 'free to all who subscribe to kindle unlimited' angle. I understand that writers need to make a living but this would be too high a price for me. My only advice to this writer is, if you are allowed to now after selling out to Kindle, reissue this next time as about 12 books just with the storyline and get your integrity back.

Great series
I got this book free and it sat on my kindle for ages. Eventually I got down to read it and couldn't believe I had taken so long to get down to it. It's a brilliant book and I am now upto book 5 and counting! Although each book follows a main couple you get to meet all the characters from previous with new ones introduced. There is great character building and the plot of good versus evil is a great backdrop throughout the series. Do hope there are more books coming, and soon, as I am getting through them pretty quickly!!

Fantastic series đđđđđ
This is a really great story. Itâs very different from the usual pnr stories I read. The build up of the storyline and characters keeps you reading to find out what happens next. A fantastic series, each story is very different and I am hooked! In fact I am on to book 22 now and it just keeps getting better. Highly recommended đđ

Addictive Series!
Ok, these are probably the BEST books I have read in a long time. The writer is extraordinarily talented in bringing her cast of characters to life. Although the premise of immortals may seem unbelievable to some, the way Lucas writes makes you believe you could sit down and have coffee when any of them. Well, almost any of them:) You will have to read to see which ones you want coffee with! I devoured each of these books in order. I couldn't put the series away. Usually I read a couple in a series and then move on to something else. I read one right after the other until I had read all of them and now can't wait to read the next one. I truly look forward to these. Not having been one who typically reads a book with steamy sex scenes (yes there are some - so if that will offend you - don't read) but these are so well done and such an integral part of the stories. You will have to read the books to find out why! If you like mysteries and love stories that are not typical --written by one of the best authors I have read in a really long time then please pick up the first book and read then in order. Do you have to read in order - no, but you will enjoy them so much more if you do. With summer coming up these would be great to take on vacation. Thanks Ms. Lucas for a great series!

Best book series I have read to date.
I had read every book in the series to date now waiting impatiently for May I was looking to go back and re-read when I found the first book of Annani's story. I am anxious to read the rest. I would like to say that I read all the book up to Turner and Bridget's final book in a matter of weeks. I was so into the stories, the world Lucas created, and the lives of all the characters I couldn't put the books down. I would read into the wee morning hours not even realizing time was passing and have to stop reading without wanting to so I could get enough sleep to be able to take care of my children. Lucas, is you read this please know that I love the way you created an amazing world and story that is enthralling and addictive and I can't wait to continue to support you as an author and read everything you choose to write...you have a supernatural gift for story telling! đ

The Children of The Gods: Dark Stranger The Dream by I.T. Lucas
Dark Stranger The Dream is merely the first book of a captivating paranormal series. I selfishly have read the first 12 "can't put 'em down" books, before taking the time to write my review of the first book, and am writing it now, only because I have a break while I await the publication of the 13th book... and because I love this author!:)Caution: Spoilers ahead. All the greatest stories are founded on the never ending war between good and evil. The characters in The Children of The God series are literally larger than life, especially Kian, the leader of his clan of Immortals, and son of Annani, the only remaining goddess in existence. Kian and his sister Amanda live in America, in a secure compound with others of their kind. Their immortality is kept a secret from the rest of the world, although they actively work and socialize with humans. They are the good immortals. They've been at war for centuries with another, much larger group of immortals, lead by a wicked man who is intent on the destruction of Annani and her descendants...I liked Lucas' concept of gods and goddesses, and their immortal children existing, and thus being the foundation of so many of the myths and legends found in our cultures. The gods and immortals are flawed as are humans. Some are very good and some are wicked...In a creative twist, the immortals have venomous fangs that are induced by aggression or arousal. They are able to "thrall" the minds of humans into forgetting, which suggests immortals may be the basis for the many vampire legends. Some immortals have additional paranormal abilities, which leads Annani's daughter, Amanda, a neuroscientist and researcher working at a university, to postulate that humans with paranormal abilities may actually be dormant immortals. She searches for "dormants" through using her research into paranormal abilities.Lucas' characters are unique, richly interesting, and they have depth. I generally do not like reading sex scenes, because so often the are crudely or poorly written. Lucas is an exception. She writes about lovemaking tastefully and well. It is a pleasure to read her books. On a final note, Lucas' story describes a world in which those in power who are good, try to lift up the rest of the world and help others. Those who are evil, spread the evil using their power, wealth and greed. Unfortunately, we are seeing this today in our world in the treatment and oppression of women, children and gays in some cultures of our world.Let us hope that good, will ultimately conquer evil in reality, as it usually does in fiction.

You won't be disappointed in this series! LOVE IT!
I stumbled on this series looking for something to read that is close to J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series.I LOVE IT. I'm on the 7th book currently and I love the storyline. The characters are awesome and the immortal touchkeeps it interesting. I especially love the characters Annani and Kian. Even though the series is "immortal", the conversationsare believable and the romantic scenes not as far fetched as some of the romance out there. I downloaded the first 11 booksas a package deal through Amazon and have now downloaded books 12 and 13. You won't be disappointed!

Let me save you some money.....itâs a no.
This is one of those books that is really only a few chapters of a book. You will have to make two more purchases to actually come to any resolution, and itâs not a satisfying resolution since they use half of the last âbookâ to start the next story. I know when I buy a 2.99 or less book that itâs probably not going to be well written or edited, however, Iâm okay with a bit of cheap escapism now and then. I actually paid almost nine dollars to get a whole book. The quality of this book is not even close to worth nine dollars. If that wasnât bad enough, my curiosity made me buy the next book(or the first few chapters of the next book anyway), only to verify some concerns that I had started to have about the author. Her talk of âslutsâ always bothered me, but she also gets pretty blatant with the homophobia and political agenda in the fourth âbookâ. Spoiler: itâs revealed that the bad guys have been supporting environmental causes in order to ruin humanity! With all of the environmental regulations, jobs are leaving the US and the country will soon have to divert funds from the military to welfare programs. With the last powerful watchdog of freedom weakened, the bad guys can swoop in and rule the world! Yes, because we must ruin the environment in order to create jobs...are we that unimaginative? You wouldnât think an author would be. As for the homophobia, the bad guys use the derogatory f word very liberally. When it is used in front of one of the good guys, instead of getting pissed, she says, âDonât worry, you look very nice, not gayish at all, very manly in fact.â What?!

gREAT AND REALSTIC CHARACTERS - FOR DEMI-GODS! TIGHT STORY AND YOU HAVE TO READ ALL THREE!
Dark Stranger The Dream: New & Lengthened 2017 Edition (The Children Of The Gods Paranormal Romance Series) Kindle Editionby I.T. Lucas (Author)Dark Stranger Revealed (The Children Of The Gods Paranormal Romance Series Book 2) Kindle Editionby I.T. Lucas (Author)Dark Stranger Immortal (The Children Of The Gods Paranormal Romance Series Book 3) Kindle Editionby I.T. Lucas (Author)I've put all three of these books together not only because they are a trilogy, but because the first two end on cliffhangers that bleed over, sometimes word for word, into the next. So, hey, three for one, yay!Imagine being the son of a Goddess, being 2000 years old, running a massive conglomerate nearly on your own and having to spend every night with a different women, wiping her memory of you so you are truly alone except for your family. Oh, and you have fangs that exude venom and are the origin of the legends of vampires, although you don't take blood. Your venom merely causes some of the greatest orgasms your partners have ever had. All you want is your truemate, but you no longer believe in that myth. Now imagine you are a graduate student who has precognitive abilities who is working with a fun and flirty female professor researching paranormal abilities. You have no idea that she has an ulterior motive, she is looking for Dormants, descendants of the Gods, many many generations removed. Your only romantic and sexual experience is one obnoxious, bordering on a verbally abusive male. These three books are their stories â Kian (the son of the Goddess) and Syssie(the ordinary grad student with precog). They are pushed together when Amanda's lab (the Professor) is destroyed by Doomers â our villains du jour. The sexual tension and relationship confusion are both drawn tight as we see the expectations of a modern woman versus that of man who has lived 2000 years and doesn't quite get the concepts of sexual liberation, delegation and democracy. There is a lot of humor and a lot of action scenes plus tension from the attraction that quickly turns to true love.Secondary character, from Amanda to Dahlu who should be the main villain but is not what we expect, are exceptionally well drawn. One moment you thing Amanda is a shallow woman moving fro man to man, then you realize she has no choice and is seeking a 'cure' to all that. Dahlu appears to be a whack job of a religious he-man-woman-hater, then you find, like a lot of Scientologist, he has discovered the internet. All three books have a continuous plot and are addicting. I would finish one and immediately need the next like a fix! This Trilogy is Book Nerd Approved4 out of 5 stars â losing one star because, for a 2000 year old man from Eastern Europe, Kian has an amazing grasp on the English language including American idioms and slang. And well, CCTV/Face Recognition programs would eventually catch the century old people, particularly if a business competitor got a bee in their bonnet to bring them down.https://www.amazon.com/Dark-Stranger-Dream-Lengthened-PaâŠ/âŠ/https://www.amazon.com/Dark-Stranger-Dream-Lengthened-PaâŠ/âŠ/https://www.amazon.com/Stranger-Immortal-Children-ParanoâŠ/âŠ/

IMMORTAL STORYTELLING
I never thought I would love a romance series about vampire ish creatures. So predictable! But not in the hands of Ms. Lucas. So cleverly done... a true storyteller. I read mostly thrillers but have taken to romance and other related genres to find out how to make a story that draws a reader to read all nine books in a week and a half. I even glided over the tons of glaring English and typo errors. A good edit can cure that stuff but only the author can make me want to read more. Loved the characters and their crazy dilemmas. Didn't love the overuse f "hissed", 'snorted' and "blushed". Again easy fixes to a really good read that took me through a nasty bout of flu. Thank you Ms. Lucas. I love your immortals!!!

Had me from the first page
I have been looking for something else to read that was along the lines of the Black Dagger Brotherhood By JR Ward and boy, I have not been disappointed. This is dark and mysterious (the God's World) to outsiders and there are two different factions, the good gods and of course what they call the bad ones who are bent on keeping their people especially women kept as property. A woman can only be of use in service, prostitution, or simply enslaved. The good gods believe in every way opposite. The story is well written and I enjoyed it immensely. I would recommend it. I'm now going to read my way through the entire series I believe it to be that good.

Not really for me.
I was a bit disappointed. I'm someone who generally enjoys new ideas and concepts in books, so the idea of gods who live on earth (disguised) and have their own agenda and clan disputes and generally behave a lot like people with superpowers quite appealed to me. The vampire angle was an interesting one - immortals with fangs and a propensity to bite during sex, but not with any evil intent. Nice. But for the rest, the story was really predictable, and I do get sick of that 'innocent lovely girl is the only one who can conquer drop dead gorgeous rich man' thing. What's so great about female innocence - haven't we moved past all that in these post-feminist times? The fact that all the male gods looked like pinups was also a bit boring - and does the author actually know what 'a Greek god' looks like? It's not exactly the cover of Vogue Man. So in the end, I just couldn't finish it. Oh well.

Addictive
Dark Stranger: The Dream (The Children of the Gods #1) by I.T. Lucas is a paranormal romance where mythological gods and goddessâs, immortal vampires exist and humans donât know what goes on around them. But they are a dying breed and need to find some way to stop it. I really enjoyed this story and really liked the characters. The story full of thrills and suspense, thrills and revenge, murder and mystery, romance and many twists. The romance was seductive and tantalising but held in check. The story is interesting especially the history of the clans.Kian is the head honcho and Amanda is his sister. She is looking for ways to find compatibility in members but it is slow going. She has a feeling that one certain woman is right for one of them but he is so sure that is not the case. The fun is in finding out the truth and finally seeing what is before his eyes.I look forward to reading the next book in this series and seeing where IT takes us.

Meh......
I have been in a bit of a book slump lately and have been searching for something different to read. While I am a huge PNR/Sci fi fan, I definitely lean more towards vampires, shifters, and aliens, so the 'Ancient Immortal/Children of Gods' thing did not really grab my attention. In truth, it was only reading a comparison to JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series (of which I am a huge fan), that piqued my interest enough to buy this book. But, while there are some general similarities between this and the BDB novels, I did not find that comparison apt, personally. Having said that.....This IS unquestionably a well written book, featuring a large cast of characters, and a plot that offers plenty of action, suspense, drama, and just a hint of the romance to come. I was fully aware going into this, that this book was just the first in a long, ongoing series so I expected certain things would be left unfinished, unanswered or unexplained. Nevertheless, for me, this book was less it's own story and more a long-winded introduction into the series. I appreciate the immensity of the imaginative and detailed world the author has created, but unfortunately (with this book at least) I felt it overshadowed the characters themselves. With more time seemingly spent on setting the stage for this series going forward, rather than on any interactions between the lead characters themselves, I found myself unable to connect with the H/h. Towards the end of this book, just as it seemed like the focus might finally narrow to Kian and Syssi specifically, the story came to an abrupt halt. With more books to follow, I can only assume we will become better acquainted with these characters moving forward, but by the end of this book I just wasn't attached enough to any of them to really care about whatever comes next. Bottom line? I was mildly intrigued by this story, but it simply did not provide what I needed to draw me into a long series. I might read book 2 someday, but I am certainly in no hurry to do so.If you are a PNR lover, are intrigued by the synopsis, and are prepared to commit to a long series, then I can recommend you give this a try.

Similar to JR Ward
The writer has definitely used JR Ward's BDB series for inspiration, particularly the writing style with the multiple points of view. I did enjoy some of JR Ward's work but I'm not a big fan. It has what I believe are the same pitfalls, being a plot with huge holes and while I could overlook it there this isn't as good. As another reviewer has mentioned, it is overly wordy in parts and I found the multiple points of view tedious, particularly when it is of the same events. (It wasn't that interesting the first time I read about it, let alone the third). This book also has another pet hate of mine, it is not a complete story. It does not have a beginning, middle and end. It has a beginning and a bit of middle. I find it disengenuous when a writer charges you for a complete story and only gives you a third.I did buy the next book but gave up there.

Schlechter Abklatsch von J.R. Ward
