I love these jars. Nice, elegant design. I've used them for years. The lids are one piece unlike the American style lids. They seal well. And they are reusable. They make a satisfying ping when they seal.There are two problems. One is that people often don't return them because they're so nice. And two, if you lose a lid, buying extras costs about the same as an entire new jar with lid. Really a ripoff.You can use regular mason jar lids which I hate because once opened you then have two piece lids which are annoying to serve from. Or you can buy aftermarket lids for a reasonable price. Search under my other reviews for the link to aftermarket lids.The photo shows two jar styles. I think the lower ones are nicer. These canning jars are very attractive. I'm not sure this matters to others, but some people really appreciate attractive glass and I'm one of them. I have a dear friend who also appreciates it, and my late Mother would have liked this too. They have wide enough mouths to easily funnel in what you are canning (I made preserves) and I really like that they are 10 1/8 oz as opposed to the standard 8 ounce. The extra 2 ounces is, in my opinion, enough to make it more of a presentable gift than the one cup jars.I initially thought I would have difficulty finding replacement lids for these jars as they are foreign made and the original lids have the rubber seal built into the lid. However, I found, much to my happiness, that the pint jar lids that can be found most anywhere fit these jars.

These have a nice rounded shape with a rounded square bottom. On one side they have a floral motif and on the other side the Quattro Staggioni logo slightly raised in the molded glass.The top has a wide opening and I found very easy to fill. I tried 2 methods of sealing them: one as instructed in the leaflet, in the water bath, and the second by simply filling them with freshly cooked, still very hot jam and then simply turning them over onto the tightly closed lid to cool. They hold the seal beautifully and reliably. The single construction lids hold so well, that I don't even use new lids every season as recommended, and they still seal perfect.

I love the jar, but the description said it was a set of 12 🤦🏻‍♀️. I received 1 jar in a big box without much packaging except around the ONE jar🤷🏻‍♀️anyway. I’m not paying $63 for ONE jar!

Canning if fun, but it does take a lot of time, work, and depending on what you're making, it can be costly. With that kind of investment, sometimes a special jar is just the right icing on the cake.These are absolutely beautiful. And I don't mind paying a premium for Italian manufacturing.In using for canning, I had a few lids that didn't seal. Because they are one piece, and I've not used this type before, perhaps they were too tight or loose.Still, I'd buy them again as they give a nice touch for the more elegant jams. For rustic, homey pickles and tomatoes, nothing beats Ball jars, but these are a lovely alternative.

These jars are great presentation jars for special items for yourself, or as gifts. I've used them this spring for canning fiddlehead pickles. I've had no issues with the provided lids sealing, and am happy to note that standard Ball 2-piece lids fit them perfectly well too.The jars came packed in a fairly solid box, w/ bubble wrap inside. I had no issues with cracked or broken jars, and I inspected them all carefully, based on breakage comments other folks had.

I filled these with hard tack candy and sent with them with other goodiesto loved ones a few Christmases ago ... Came back this year to purchase more and see the price has gone through the roof. They're now listed at almost double what I paid for them the first time ($28.51).They are beautiful and well made so there's that. But I just can't justify spending twice as much for the same product, when none of the other brands have increase that much in price.

My husband uses 4 of these for his bread starters and swears by them. I was thrilled that there were plenty in his order to share! It is amazing how many uses we have found for these pretty little jars. Pretty enough to sit on the counter, handy enough to be in the fridge, bathroom, laundry room and craft room. I can see us ordering another case in the near future!
