Nice HD box for older computer/games console.
Works very well and I got it so I can use my Zx Spectrum in HD which this does well on my computer screen. Looks very sharp and a good price. Especially useful for using on a modern TV or computer that has no Scart connection as it can use a HD lead.

It works for retro gaming
I bought this for retro gaming on the monitor/tv - specifically very old retro gaming, zx spectrum so it uses the old peritel connection with rgb output rather than composite - so many of these converters don't support that use case - so it was a delight that this one was set and forget plug it in and it works - the build quality is solid - metal cased, positive action buttons with options for switching from a scart input to a hdmi input with could be handy if you have to limit your inputs. Overall, solid 8 out of 10 for me, improvements could be made to the power supply (feels a little cheap, but don't replace it with something that is not a barrel plug, that's helpful for replacements)

Bought for PS1. Close to perfect
I bought this specifically to connect my PS1 to my 4k tv and it does the job wonderfully but with one or two annoyances.Every time the resolution changes the OSD pops up for an obnoxious amount of time. I wish this could be turned off.It could do with a selector to force 16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratios to avoid having to fart about with the tv settings.Other than that it's great. Picture in nice and clean, its actually RGB so import games play in colour and it's a good, crisp image and no noticable video lag from the upscale so playing games still feels good.Definitely recommended for anyone looking to use it for retro gaming.

Didn't work with BBC micro
Bought this as another review said it worked with a BBC B micro with my RGB > SCART cable and although the SCART/PAL notification came up on the screen there was nothing from the BBC.I also tested on a VCR and the picture was really poor quality compared to playing direct to a SCART TV.No response from McBazel or the address in the manual after a week so I assumed defective and returned for a refund. If any has this working on a BBC let me know.

Does all I need
This arrived today (Sun 27th Oct 2024).Piece of cake to set up. Scart output on a VHS video player/recorder to scart input on this converter, then HDMI output on this converter to the HDMI port on your TV. That's it, works straight away. I have a different converter upstairs. When you fast forward a VHS tape, the screen goes blank but with this you can fast forward and still see the video on your screen.Great piece of hardware and a real good price for what it is and does. 10/10 for sure.

HDMi output not universally compatible...
I have purchased several of these units over time, apparently branded slightly differently, but actually the very same product in the box. When they work, they are marvellous, but the more recent units no longer provide an HDMI output compatible with some of my TVs and Monitors. So, the latest ones DO work on some TVs, but there appear to be some subtle timing differences introduced that render the HDMI output unusable on my main monitors (Dell 17" and 19") which take DVI-D directly and through a passive HDMI to DVI-D adapter works a treat with one of the earlier Scart to HDMI units of exactly the same brand.A real pity, because these units are very good otherwise. If there was a way to contact the actual manufacturer, it may be possible to get an FPGA update for these later units that restores the earlier HDMI timing.

Works fine for PiStorm Amiga 1200
Bought to allow both RGB and RTG graphics out of an Amiga 1200 with PiStorm32Lite and a Pi4. Works a charm.Used RGB to Scart for the Amiga chipset output, and micro-HDMI to HDMI for the Pi/RTG. This means that there's only one cable going into the TV and I can run both outputs into the TV's HDMI port - no channel/source switching necessary. The device has a button on the front that allows you to switch between the two inputs. If you're doing this on an Amiga then bear in mind that sound always goes out through the stereo barrel jacks on the Amiga regardless of whether or not RTG is in use; if your Scart cable takes the sound as well then you will only get sound when switched to the RGB input. I use a separate pair of PC speakers for this so it's independent of video output and it just works. Highly recommended.

It Works
Needed a Smart to HDMI converter for my old Acorn Electron. This does the job & works fine. Instructions very basic. Just plug it in and fiddle, you will get there.

Excelente relación calidad-precio. OJO: no acepta RGB.
The media could not be loaded.
