Schwalbe CX Comp Tyre with Active Wired Kevlarguard 480 g - 700 x 35C (35-622), Black

I bought these tyres for my Specialized Sirrus because I kept getting flats on my old tyres (Gatorgrips.) I use the bike for road cycling mainly with a few stony gravel paths thrown in. The roads where I live are very potholed and I think this contributed to the flats I was getting.These Schwalbe tyres are ideal for the kind of riding I do - I've had them about 3 months now and not a single puncture or issue. At the price I paid I think they are outstanding value.

I use these for winter rides in the lanes and summer rides on forest tracks. The knobbly side tread gives a bit of reassurance on gravelly corners. They last better than g-ones but are not as fast rolling. I found that the pressure needs to be in the upper region of the specified range for best puncture resistance. I only started getting punctures then when the tread got a bit thin in the middle.

Seem great so far - just the amount of grip I was looking for on country park tracks and so on, whilst still giving me good road rolling performance. Also easier to fit than some others I have tried, also better value (as long as they live up to the puncture resistant claims!)

I ride about 16 miles a day on trails and roads. They were fine at first, but after just 5-6 months the back tyre tread had worn right down. Also, I didn't find them to be very puncture resistant and after 4 in 1 month, with the tyre wall blowing out on the last, I swapped for Marathons. They are cheap though, so for occasional use probably a good choice.

I bought these tyres to replace the original ones after suffering punctures nearly every other day.They were very easy too fit. The thread looks quite robust and so far (around 100 miles) I have not had any puncture.The tyres feel safe on wet tarmac and are very quiet.For the price they seem a bargain but it is too early to say.

I own a Kona Jake cyclocross which I mainly use for commuting to work. I ride mainly on the road but my commute does take me across a park and also along a dirt track. It is a 30 mile round trip and each leg takes me around 50 minutes.I've been riding on Continental Speedking tyres for the last 2 years and generally they have been ok. They are a bit sluggish on the road but I thought that was down to the tyres being 35mm cyclocross tyres. I like this type of tyre as they take a bit more abuse than smaller tyres and can handle the poor quality roads of South and West London with little trouble. However, the Speedkings were prone to the odd puncture but still not as bad as previous smaller road tyres I have used.A friend at work told me about Schwalbe tyres so I had a look on the net to see what was about. My friend uses Schwalbe Marathons but I chose not to go for them and opted for the CX Comp instead after reading other peoples reviews. Also my friend doesn't use his bike for commuting and more for leisure so his needs were different to mine.I have done about 120 miles on the CX Comps so far and I really like them. They seem so much faster on the road compared to the Speedkings, which is the most noticeable difference. I feel a lot more confident going round bends at speed in the wet now.They also feel nice and sturdy allowing me to hammer along dirt tracks and bump up kerbs just as I could on the Speedkings.My only main criticism is that the bead is a lot thicker than the Continentals and it was a bit tricky getting the tyre to stay in the rim around the valve area during a tyre change. As for the puncture protection only time will tell.All in all this is a great tyre and for the cash I think you would have to look hard to find better value.*****Update 30/05/13*****I've now covered well over 1000 miles on these tyres and haven't had a single puncture. I love these tyres and will definitely get another set when these die but at present these have plenty of life left.*****Update 25/09/13*****Done just over 2000 miles and had my first puncture (back tyre only, front is still good).

Good all round tyres - cope well with a variety of off road conditions as well as Tarmac. They inflate at a max 65 psi however in spite of the low pressure they have very little rolling resistance. Delighted with these.

Nice tire. Doesn't fit so tight that it's difficult to put on. I probably didn't even need tools to do it, though they helped make it easier. The ride is nice. Bumps on the side give good grip on gravel, while a smoother center allows for an easy road ride.Update after 3 years of use: I still like these tires, but I find they wear out fairly quickly. You have to replace them as soon as the tread wears down (I got a flat because I left it too long), and I only get about 1000km out of them on the rear tire. The front wears less. I do cycle on gravel roads quite a bit, so that may be causing the fast wear.
