I thought my original remote was faulty and purchased this. Sadly when I tried this replacement the telly showed the same fault, therefore the original remote was not faulty, therefore I returned it. This was a solid replacement though and I would buy again if needed.

I got a generic replacement for my 2012 Sony TV in the main bedroom in July 2023 and it was good, almost like having a new TV compared with using the old one with its failing buttons. However, it didn't feel nice to hold and some of the buttons were stiff with others almost too soft and one or two occasionally stuck. I'd have remained fairly content with it had I not been fortunate in being offered this remote via Amazon Vine.It feels right in the hand, a little heavier and all the buttons require the same satisfactory equal pressure. It is not the correct remote for my TV but everything works except the 'Options' button on my old one, replaced by 'Action Menu', does not work. It generates an infrared signal but my TV doesn't understand it. The options button was rarely used but the old remote is kept in a handy drawer just in case. The 'Football' button also has no effect as it's not a facility on the TV. There is no i-Manual button on this remote but the i-Manual is accessible via the Home button if required. One useful button that neither my original remote not the generic replacement had is a last channel button, which surprisingly works despite the original remote not having it.I have little doubt that this is a genuine Sony product. The price (£17.99) is what you would expect to pay and it says 'Sony' on it, which a generic replacement would not unless perhaps it is made by Everyday Remotes on behalf of Sony.Particularly if you have one of the TVs with which this is officially compatible, I would certainly recommend.
