Stella Pro Lights Battery Pack Bike Light Accessory

This replacement battery is expensive for what it is but without it, you can't use your light. A necessary evil I suppose. I have two older Light & Motion light heads, a Seca 700 and Seca 1400. The manufacturer claims that older lights aren't compatible with newer batteries but they don't tell you why. After some digging, and a drawn out email exchange with L&M customer service, I discovered that the only issue is that the race mode of the older light heads will not be accessible. Trying to access race mode with an old light/new battery combo will result in the light shutting down and refusing to turn on until you disconnect and reconnect the battery. So, your older light WILL work with the newer battery, if you're unbothered by the loss of race mode. A small inconvenience considering you get to keep using your old light heads. A fraction of the cost of a new battery/light purchase. Recommended.

I purchased this because I wanted a battery that lasted more than 1.5 hours on high, I have the 2000lumen light. With this battery I've never had it run down even after a few 2 - 3 hours. Great for fat biking in the dark winter nights.

To keep prices down, Light & Motion seems to be selling their 3 cell battery with most of the new packages. The problem with the 3 cell battery is that it simply will not power a high-lumen light such as the  Light & Motion Seca 1700 Race Light  for a very long time. This 6 cell battery, on the other hand, is up to the job of powering the 1400 or the 1700 for a reasonable amount of time. Light & Motion Seca 1700 Race Light

Awesomeness! I haven't even had to re-charge this battery since the initial charge since my light goes so long on a charge. I have a light and motion light from 2008 or so and this battery is compatible with my old light and charger.
