Very informative
Found these books the series of him to be extremely informative and very helpful when wanting to make things we need a 1 yard fabric or making things for my grandchildren if I had these thoughts when I was younger raising of my children and I thought it would be the most helpful bookshelf there because then it would’ve been easier just to look up a pattern inside the book today notes and then easily make it that very day must have on hand when being a parent or even being a grandparent

Pleasantly Surprised!
I purchased this book to get ideas for using up my fabric stash. As a professional seamstress, I'm not often surprised by what I find in these kinds of books, but I was delighted by a number of the project ideas. For under $30 you not only receive a book with clear instructions of 101 projects, but you also receive in the book a number of patterns, a glossary of sewing terms, and a guide to what different fabrics are and for which purposes they are best utilized.Yes, a majority of the projects are for children. So what? There's a sleeping baby on the front cover and a kiddo in a superhero cape on the back cover. The patterns are simple and if you happen to have more than one yard of fabric at your disposal, you can easily trace out the provided patterns and eyeball an enlargement to convert the patterns into something for older kids (or yourselves. Really, who doesn't want a superhero cape?)The bottle carrier is an easy idea and the recovering of an umbrella is wonderful. The projects range in ability from very easy to novice, but there's nothing in this book that's impossible for the average stitcher.I recommend this book. I have not seen the others in its series, so I have nothing from which to base a comparative opinion, but I was impressed by the breadth of sewing-related knowledge supplied. My only gripe about the book is that I wish the photos of the projects were a bit more clear. Straight on front, side, and back views of the garments would improve the layout immensely and would serve to provide the reader with a more visual guide to the steps. That's it! Buy the book.

I'm very glad I bought this
It's a very inspirational book. It's near impossible to put back all the patterns, but the fact that it even CAME with 101 patterns is pretty incredible! from the few things I've made so far, the authors really put a lot of time and effort into this book, but it just simply isn't ALWAYS ''one yard wonders''. I'd guess almost 80% of the projects truly are ONE yard. and the rest are slightly over, and some, like womens shirts are 1and 1/2. Other than that? I'm not complaining!...wonderful patterns and ideas for left over material are found in here. The patterns that I have used, I just collect, mark and put in a file, and not try to shove back into the nice neat front pocket they came it. This way, I leave the book on my coffee table, as almost everyone who comes over, finds themselves flipping through it, and leave feeling inspired. Beware~ you will be asked to make a lot things!haha people think sewing so easy,,and sometimes it is;) sometimes, not so much. Again, I'm very glad I bought this. I can tell, there is nothing to get bored with here

too many projects for children's clothing
It is a nice book that has a nice binder. It comes with the patterns needed and the directions for the projects appear understandable. It has other sewing pointers that are extremely helpful. My only complaint (and I should have examined the book better) is that the majority of the projects are for children (i.e. clothing, stuffed animals, other projects for children). I was not aware of this and as a result I will likely get very little use from the book.

Wonderful One-yard Wonders
Fabric-by-Fabric One-Yard Wonders is a great book for people who are looking for something a little different to make for themselves or as a gift. There are quick and easy projects for the beginner and others are for sewers who like a bit of a challenge. The authors have divided the book into chapters by 'recommended fabric type' and have selected projects which work well with that particular fabric. Each chapter begins by discussing the particular characteristics of the selected fabric range and how to sew with it. All patterns are included in the front of the book in a cardboard envelope for protection. Projects cover a range of areas such as clothing and funky toys for children, practical and roomy bags for all occasions as well as beautiful decorator items and accessories for the home with many 'quirky' and fun items such as the hedgehog book ends. A full materials list followed by a cutting layout and separate list of each fabric piece needed to complete the project is included. Simple diagrams and easy-to-follow instructions ensure success for a professional finish. Great book to have in your personal craft library or to give as a gift.

Beginner Sewist - Here
I just started sewing about 6 months ago and I already have the 1st version of One Yard Wonder's." I like this one because she goes more in depth about the a few of the different basic types of fabric out there like; knit, corduroy, quilting weight fabric, wool and explains there differences and how it's different to sew with them. I love both of her books because you can actually make things with out spending a fortune on fabric and you always know exactly how much you need. Although, I'm a beginner she writes her instructions in a way I can usually understand or figure out. I've already made a couple of her projects from the first book and I'm excited to embark on this new book with the different fabrics. However I am a little hesitate to start on knit. But, already going over the chapters, she provides tips for working with each fabric. So whether your a beginner or a novice; her project are downright cute. And her instructions are easy to follow. It's a great wayto start learning more or new skill set.

Bit old fashioned
Bit old fashioned, a lot of projects remind me of things from the 70's, or is it just the fabric they used ?I shall make some things so for the price paid its not bad value, but highly unlikely to buy anymore like it, and wouldnt replace it I lost it either !

this book is good if you are an absolute begginer (and you have ...
the designs are sometimes really ugly, this book is good if you are an absolute begginer (and you have low cost fabric to practice with) or a blind old lady (I don't mean to be disrespectful with the old ladies or for the blind ones), but you get the point: don't waste your time and money.

So many projects, hard to decide where to begin
This is like the original One Yard Wonders but super-sized. Lots and lots of new and interesting projects, most of which I actually want to make. Like many others I find it hard to resit just a metre of a fabulous fabric and now I have something to do with my stash. As I was about to go on a trip I rustled up both the Smart Girl's Set and Jet Set over the Easter weekend. Instructions were easy to follow and I love the results. Now which project should I start next?

I love this book!
If you are an obsessive fabric stasher looking for loads of inspiration get this book! some sewing knowledge is helpful, but most of the projects seem simple, but not boring if you are more experienced. I have so far made the charming bag, superhero cape and shorts and swaddle blankets and I am about to start the play day frock. All the paterns have been great, and instructions clear. I wholeheartedly recommend it.
