I am a soldering newbie. This wire pad and holder does a good job of cleaningthe soldering iron tip and is easy to use. As I said I'm very new to this!

It does the job, cleans the tip of your soldering iron after use.

I'm new to electronics but found continually cleaning the solder tip on a wet sponge quickly became tiresome. Watching youtube tutorials suggested the pros used these so for the cost I decided to jump in. It is a lot quicker and effective than a wet sponge, the old solder collects at the bottom making it easy to flick into the bin without getting it rolling around the bench.

these tip cleaners are all pretty similar the case is ok pretty solid but the wire sponge is just a wee bit small and flops about inside it either needs a bigger one or 2 wedged in to give it a firmness when cleaning soldering tip
